Full Job Description
The Senior Manager of Business Intelligence should be equal parts strategist, technologist, and builder. In this role, you'll serve as a hands-on BI leader, owning our reporting strategy and delivery while laying the foundation for a scalable business intelligence team. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners in Operations, Marketing, and Finance to bring clarity to performance, optimize reporting workflows, and enable self-service analytics across the business.

Successful candidates will have advanced analytical skills, the ability to create reporting and analyses that tell a story with data while providing actionable recommendations. This individual will develop innovative analytics and reporting solutions that inform and influence decisioning across retail and dining functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic BI Leadership

  • Define and execute a BI roadmap that aligns with business priorities and data platform capabilities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders/leaders and navigate cross-functionally to collaboratively deliver on priorities
  • Partner with Information Technology team on current data platform functionality/enhancements and evaluation of future platforms and/or reporting tools
  • Partner with business leaders to identify KPI frameworks and reporting standards
  • Establish governance around data definitions, trusted datasets, and reporting SLAs


Hands-On Reporting & Modeling

  • Manage the entire process of creating analytical reports including, but not limited to, leading the business users in gathering, developing and creating business requirements documents
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards and department-level reporting using BI tools
  • Design semantic models, shared datasets, and re-usable DAX measures
  • Support operational analytics via Sigma Data Apps and prescriptive workflows


Team Building & Enablement

  • Identify and prioritize resourcing needs as BI demands grow
  • Mentor junior/partner analysts and help define the team structure
  • Develop training, documentation, and enablement strategies for self-service users
  • Document processes, technical designs, and best practices for future reference
  • Work in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Data Engineering on Snowflake model design and Matillion ELT performance
  • Serve as the analytics liaison between business users and technical stakeholders

  • Drive adoption of modern BI tools and encourage a data-informed culture


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics, BI, or data strategy roles
  • Proven SQL, DAX, and (ideally) Python skills
  • Deep experience with Power BI and related tools such as Sigma BI
  • Operational knowledge in key source systems SAP, UKG, WFM, and TM1
  • Strong understanding of data modeling in Snowflake and ELT/ETL processes (Matillion a plus)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven experience balancing hands-on dashboard development with strategic leadership
  • Must bring a business first mindset, with a desire and readiness to lead a team as the BI function grows
  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency in effective project management
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of working closely with customers and collaboratively delivering solutions to meet business needs


NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with SAP S4/Hana data structure, implementation and/or support
  • Experience with retail data domains (POS, inventory, promotions, eCommerce, loyalty)
  • Familiarity with Azure based cloud platforms and orchestration tools
