POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Sr. Manager, Acquisitions will take lead of the deal process post-origination, ensuring seamless execution from due diligence through to closing. This role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in managing complex transactions, negotiating definitive agreements, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy, particularly in community solar and storage, and will be proficient in project management. The Acquisitions scope will be focused on project level acquisitions and may also include joint development arrangements and co-development structures. The role will be central to guiding transactions and commercial outcomes, overseeing due diligence workstreams and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure underwriting assumptions, economics, and deal structures are accurate, risk-managed, competitive, and executable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transaction Leadership: Lead the acquisition of community solar and distributed storage projects, managing transactions through closing. Drive deal execution, coordinate due diligence, and negotiate agreements to expand our renewable energy portfolio.
  • Transaction Execution, Risk Management & Cross - Functional Leadership: Own day-to-day transaction execution from post-origination through closing, including due diligence strategy, issue resolution, and risk management across commercial, technical, financial, legal, tax, and regulatory workstreams. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate transaction risks through structuring, diligence scoping, and contractual protections, ensuring alignment with company risk tolerances and regulatory and policy frameworks. Serve as the central point of coordination across internal teams, external advisors, and counterparties to drive timely, executable outcomes.
  • Negotiation: Lead the structuring and negotiation of MIPAs, non - binding term sheets, and definitive agreements for project acquisitions and joint development arrangements. Negotiate key commercial and risk terms , including valuation, pricing mechanics, milestones, conditions precedent, reps and indemnities and work closely with legal counsel to translate commercial positions into executable, IC - approved documentation, papering and mitigating development, interconnection, EPC, offtake, and incentive - related risks.
  • Reporting & Investment Committee Support: Provide clear, timely, and decision-oriented reporting to senior management and the Investment Committee on transaction progress, diligence findings, key risks, commercial terms, and strategic recommendations. Lead preparation of IC materials, support IC discussions, and ensure approved assumptions and conditions are effectively carried through to definitive documentation and closing.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5-8+ years of direct transaction management experience in renewable energy, with a proven track record of leading and closing project - level solar and storage acquisitions, including due diligence, negotiation of definitive agreements, and execution through closing.
  • Strong negotiation, financial modeling, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. community solar markets, including regulatory, incentive, and policy frameworks across key jurisdictions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Established relationships with developers, investors, and advisors in renewable energy space.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, due diligence activities, deal execution, and conferences up to 25%.
