Senior Manager, HR Accounting & Reporting, you will lead North America HR accounting operations, overseeing payroll, share-based compensation, post-retirement benefits, and incentive programs. Fort Worth, Texas.In this role, a typical day will include:- Lead North America HR Accounting activities, including payroll, share-based compensation, pensions, post-retirement benefits, annual incentives, executive compensation, and global mobility programs.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, internal accounting policies, and financial control standards.
- Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entry reviews, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Review and assess the accounting impact of changes to employee benefit plans, compensation programs, and accounting standards.
- Drive the execution and effectiveness of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit readiness across HR-related accounting processes.
- Partner with HR, Compensation & Benefits, Finance, Technical Accounting, Internal Audit, and External Auditors to resolve complex accounting matters and support business objectives.
- Lead the review and approval of significant accruals and estimates related to bonus programs, retirement plans, stock compensation, and other employee benefits.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting accuracy.
- Monitor and deliver against established service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) while maintaining a strong customer-focused mindset.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for a high-performing accounting team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience
- 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
Preferred- CPA
- Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools such as Microsoft Copilot and automation solutions to improve processes, increase efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, data analysis, financial modeling, pivot tables, and management of large datasets and sophisticated spreadsheets.
- Experience with SAP and related financial or HR systems for reporting, reconciliation, workflow management, and process optimization.
- Knowledge of share-based compensation accounting, including stock compensation, equity awards, incentive plans, and related financial reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated adaptability and a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process enhancement, automation, and operational excellence.
