What You'll Be Doing

The Accounting Controllership team is responsible for the integrity of the financial and management information used for accounting, reporting and business analysis. The Senior Manager is responsible for operations of the Reconciliations team and output, design and implementation of control framework and procedures, standardization, streamlining and automation of reconciliations, development and management of a high performing team of professionals within the Accounting Reconciliation team. This role is responsible for supporting the onshore and offshore teams with investigation of complex reconciliation issues for Personal and Business Banking Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management and other functional groups. The role also supports the teams with oversight and quality assurance review of suspense account outside of Finance Controllership.

How You'll Succeed
  • Financial Accuracy- Reviews financial reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items, including investigating, analyzing, assessing and documenting impacts; and developing recommendations, approaches and solutions.
  • Controls & Compliance - Ensure Finance-owned controls are performed on a regular basis to identify/manage exposure to risks, escalating issues as appropriate e.g. suspense accounts aged/unusual items and proactively monitoring and reducing operational risks as part of reconciliation process risk assessment.
  • Relationship Building - Collaborates with Accounting Controllership teams, CFO teams and other business partners to ensure client needs are met on a timely basis and that the team continuously add value.
  • Passionate leader - Lead, coach and motivate the team of onshore and offshore employees to consistently deliver a high impact environment that continues to raise expectations to ensure service level to business partners and CIBC clients are met.
