Description

The Sr. Maintenance Reliability Specialist will lead the implementation, continuous improvement, and sustainability of reliability systems and processes within the manufacturing site. This position is responsible for developing, managing and coordinating the reliability programs and activities of the location key assets, utilities and support equipment through the use of personal knowledge, engineering resources, OEM and maintenance employees, to ensure maximum availability of these key assets, utilities and support equipment, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs for production and facility equipment.
  • Review equipment history, manufacturer recommendations, failure trends, and maintenance data to determine appropriate PM frequencies and tasks.
  • Establish and maintain PM procedures, inspection checklists, lubrication schedules, and equipment maintenance standards.
  • Identify opportunities to transition reactive maintenance activities toward planned and proactive maintenance.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive spare-parts program for new and existing machine assets.
  • Identify critical spare parts and establish appropriate stocking levels based on equipment criticality, lead times, failure history, and supplier availability.
  • Create and maintain equipment-specific spare-parts lists, including part numbers, descriptions, manufacturers, suppliers, and applicable equipment.
  • Work with Purchasing and suppliers to establish reliable sources for critical replacement parts.
  • Develop strong working relationships with OEMs, machine manufacturers, distributors, and service providers.
  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs, service visits, upgrades, and technical support.
  • Establish points of contact with equipment manufacturers to facilitate quick access to technical support, troubleshooting assistance, replacement parts, manuals, and service.
  • Maintain accurate equipment documentation, including manuals, drawings, electrical schematics, parts lists, service information, and recommended maintenance procedures.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment by establishing PM requirements, spare-parts inventories, documentation, and vendor support processes before equipment enters production.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or significant equipment failures and help implement corrective actions.
  • Track equipment downtime, recurring failures, maintenance costs, and other reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with Maintenance and Operations teams to prioritize equipment reliability improvements based on equipment criticality and business impact.
  • Assist in developing equipment criticality assessments and asset-maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure maintenance records, equipment information, and spare-parts data remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support digitilization of maintence department.
  • Help establish and monitor key maintenance and reliability KPIs
  • Promote a culture of planned maintenance, equipment ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop reliability improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and maintenance costs.


Position Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent with 8+ years relevant experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related field with 6+ years experience in Maintenance Reliability or equivalent.
  • Minimum education and years of experience requirements are not to be used exclusive of other leveling factors. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
  • Experience managing or developing spare-parts inventories.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and vendor-management skills.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with OEMs, suppliers, contractors, maintenance technicians, engineers, and operations personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.

  • Experience, CNC equipment, conveyors, air compressors, elctrical equipment, or other industrial machinery.
  • Experience negotiating parts availability, lead times, service agreements, or vendor support.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar reliability/maintenance certification.
