Position Summary

DuPont is seeking a skilled Sr. Maintenance Planner- E&I to support maintenance and reliability operations at the Experimental Station research campus in Wilmington, Delaware.

This position is responsible for development and continuous improvement of comprehensive maintenance work plans that enable safe, efficient, and reliable execution of facility and infrastructure maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner applies independent judgment to define work scope, determine planning requirements, identify risks, and establish the resources necessary for successful, safe, efficient, and compliant execution.

This role is accountable for all pre-execution planning activities, ensuring work packages are fully developed, including detailed scope and process of work, identification of required resources and materials, and ensures that all prerequisites are in place prior to releasing jobs to the scheduler. The Sr. Maintenance Planner serves as a key contributor to maintenance governance, asset reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex technical environment and is required to work cross functionally with stakeholders including Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Site Tenants to drive effective work management and reliable asset performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop complete maintenance work packages including task sequences, labor requirements, materials, tools, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Conduct field assessments and technical reviews to define and validate work scope and execution readiness.
  • Apply professional judgment to determine the appropriate planning strategy and level of detail required for maintenance activities.
  • Ensure planned work complies with site safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define material, equipment, contractor, and service requirements necessary for successful execution.
  • Improve maintenance master data, job plans, equipment records, and technical documentation within SAP and related systems.
  • Analyze planning performance and improve maintenance effectiveness, reliability, and work management practices.
  • Participate in operational excellence, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, procurement, and operations stakeholders to improve planning quality and execution outcomes
  • Create and maintain standardized job plans to support planning consistency and continuous improvement
  • Capture feedback from execution in SAP to improve future planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support and enhance the site Work Management Process


Qualifications
  • Technical diploma, associate degree, or journeyperson certification in electrical maintenance, instrumentation, or a related field. Delaware Journeyperson Electrical License preferred (not required).
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or research environment (e.g., chemical, refining, R&D, or similar) with demonstratable experience in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and work planning.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret E&I schematics, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs.
  • Solid understanding of equipment failure modes, maintenance strategies, and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of utility systems and their impact on facility operations and tenants.
  • Proficiency in SAP (work orders, planning, and master data management) with 1+ years of experience, expertise and 3+ years of user experience preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)


SAP Experience

SAP experience for this role means the ability to use the maintenance management system to plan, document, track, manage, and update maintenance work within SAP, including, at a minimum, to be able to:
  • Create, review, and update work orders.
  • Build and maintain job plans and task lists.
  • Review and update equipment and asset records.
  • Check materials, parts, BOMs, and inventory availability.
  • Track preventive maintenance plans
