This role ensures efficient supply chain performance, cost control, regulatory compliance, and high service levels across domestic and international logistics operations. This position will support the logistics operations in support of all our sites including Wilmington, Massachusetts, Monterrey Mexico, Europe, India, Asia Pacific, and China. Accountable and responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvement projects within KSS logistics operations. Partners with Freight Forwarders and 3PL providers to drive continuous improvement within our logistic processes.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Leadership- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with company goals
- Lead and mentor logistics team, 3PL warehouse, and transportation teams
- Manage vendor relationships, including carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
Operations Management- Manage third-party logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers; negotiate contracts and service-level agreements
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipping, 3PL warehousing, and distribution activities
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment planning
- Ensure on-time delivery and service performance metrics are met
- Resolve operational issues, delays, and service disruptions
- Partner cross-functionally with procurement, finance, legal, and operations teams to support business objectives
Cost & Performance Management- Develop and manage logistics budgets
- Analyze freight spending and negotiating carrier contracts
- Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, and inventory turns
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
Compliance & Risk Management- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and import/export requirements
- Serve as subject matter expert on tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, free trade agreements, and duty mitigation strategies
- Manage documentation and audit readiness
- Manage global value added tax requirements
- Implement contingency plans for supply chain disruptions
Systems & Reporting- Utilize ERP, WMS, and TMS systems to manage logistics activities
- Produce operational reports and dashboards for leadership
- Lead system improvements and digital transformation initiatives
Qualifications:Education:- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, or related field
- Active Licensed Customs Broker
- Prior experience with Hazmat transportation and customs paperwork
Experience:- 8-10 years of progressive experience in logistics international transportation
- 3-5+ years in leadership or senior management roles
- Experience managing multi-site 3PL's and logistics operations preferred
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international trade compliance, customs regulations, and governmental requirements
