Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house HR, Litigation, Ethics & Compliance legal team. Based in either our Gaithersburg, MD or Alpharetta, GA location and reporting to the VP & GC - Legal HR, Litigation, Ethics & Compliance, this strategic in-house counsel position is dedicated to supporting the organization's legal needs with respect to global commercial litigation and software compliance while working with the broader legal and HR teams.

They will serve as a trusted advisor to the business, providing guidance to mitigate organizational risk. This role supports OpenText's global business and therefore offers an opportunity for exposure to international litigation and compliance matters.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS- Challenging Responsibilities: Manage and provide legal support for global commercial litigation matters, including collaborating and liaising with external counsel; attending mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with OpenText's business and sales teams across the globe, and provide commercial litigation support as well as assessing litigation risk with respect to security and software compliance matters.

- Academic Background: J.D. with 3-8 years of experience in commercial litigation, excellent academic credentials, and membership in at least one state bar.
- Legal Knowledge: Prior experience and knowledge in software licensing and services, software compliance, professional services agreements, and privacy/security matters would be highly advantageous.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English; other European language skills would be a plus.

Salary Range: $176,000 - $260,000 USD - Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
California Residents: The pay range above is a reasonable estimate of salary based on pay scale, candidate experience, skills, and education. In addition to the comprehensive benefits noted above, the role may be eligible for bonus or commissions.
