Position Description:

CGI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable, cloud native applications within a high impact investment operations environment.

This role requires an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building resilient distributed systems, and delivering high quality software that supports critical financial business processes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with product owners, architects, developers, and DevOps teams to implement modern backend solutions, optimize system performance, and contribute to the delivery of enterprise grade applications in a fast paced Agile environment.

This is a Full Time, On-site employment opportunity based in the Dallas, TX area.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Design and build robust, scalable solutions aligned with enterprise technology standards and cloud first strategies.
. Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural and design decisions that drive performance, resiliency, and maintainability.
. Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate complex business needs into elegant, high performing software solutions.
. Guide and mentor developers, ensuring engineering excellence through code reviews, testing best practices, and continuous improvement.
. Partner with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, observability, and deployment automation.
. Contribute to process optimization and delivery velocity through agile practices and engineering leadership

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 10+ years of hands on experience in Java/J2EE development with deep expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
. Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and multi layered enterprise applications.
. Strong command of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
. Proficiency with CI/CD tools and practices (GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, Git strategies).
. Solid understanding of relational databases (DB2, Oracle), SQL, and ORM frameworks (Hibernate, JPA).
. Experience resolving complex technical challenges across distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments.
. A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and elevating engineering teams.

Good to have:
. Experience in financial services, especially investment operations, NAV, or fund accounting systems.
. Familiarity with alternative investments (e.g., derivatives, private equity, liquid alts).
. Exposure to tools like SonarQube, ServiceNow, and HP Operations Orchestration.
. Agile delivery experience and a track record of driving process improvements.
