Johnson & Johnson is hiring for a Sr. IT Project Manager 6 Shockwave Medical to join our team located in Santa Clara, CA.

Fueled by innovation at the intersection of biology and technology, we 27re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive, more personalized treatments. Ready to join a team that 27s pioneering the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Our Shockwave Medical portfolio aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sr. IT Project Manager to lead strategic technology initiatives and drive execution across a diverse portfolio of business and IT projects. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, functional leaders, IT teams, vendors, and executive leadership to successfully deliver complex, cross-functional technology programs.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects, establishing effective governance processes, proactively managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring successful delivery from business case development through deployment and stabilization.

In addition to project execution, this role will play a key role in IT portfolio management, project prioritization, governance, and compliance initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Project & Program Leadership

  • Lead complex, enterprise-wide projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.

  • Develop project charters, business cases, funding requests, and ROI analyses to support executive decision-making.

  • Build and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and risk registers.

  • Manage project scope, budget, timeline, quality, risks, assumptions, and dependencies.

  • Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committees, and executive reviews.

  • Provide clear and concise project status reporting to business and IT leadership.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with business leaders to define objectives, priorities, and success criteria.

  • Negotiate and align competing priorities across multiple functional groups.

  • Facilitate decision-making and proactively address roadblocks that impact project delivery.

  • Drive communication and organizational change efforts to support successful adoption.

Portfolio & PMO Management

  • Own and maintain the IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic objectives.

  • Establish and enhance project governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and reporting processes.

  • Lead IT monthly business review meetings to review different portfolios within IT.

  • Support project intake, prioritization, resource planning, and capacity management activities.

Risk Management & Delivery Excellence

  • Identify project risks, impacts, and dependencies early and develop effective mitigation strategies.

  • Monitor project health and proactively replan activities as business priorities evolve.

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions.

  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices and delivery standards.

Compliance & Governance

  • Partner with Internal Audit, Quality, and Compliance teams for governance and compliance.

  • Support audit readiness activities and compliance remediation programs.

  • Ensure system implementation projects meet required governance, documentation, and validation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor 27s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.

  • 7+ years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional IT projects and programs.

  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.

  • Experience establishing or supporting PMO functions, portfolio management, and governance processes.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and influence across both business and technical teams.

  • Experience leading enterprise application projects involving ERP (Oracle), or similar platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of software development and systems implementation life cycles (SDLC).

  • Experience in working with tools like Smartsheet, Jira, SharePoint, Visio, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft 365 Collaboration tools and Resource Management applications.

  • Experience working with audit, compliance, validation environments.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Additional Information

  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation 27s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company 27s discretion on an individual basis.
