Senior IT Project Manager- Hybrid | Cary, NC

We are seeking a highly collaborative and results-driven SeniorITProjectManager to lead strategic initiatives supporting SASManagedCloudServices(MCS). This role will be responsible for delivering projects that improve customer experience, enhance operational efficiency, modernize service delivery processes, and enable future business growth. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional efforts involving application development, platform modernization, workflow automation, ServiceNow implementations, AI-driven operational improvements, and third-party SaaS solutions delivered with implementation partners.

This position requires a strong leader who can effectively coordinate business, technical, operational, and vendor teams while managing complex dependencies across the Managed Cloud Services ecosystem.
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will:
  • Lead strategic initiatives supporting SAS Managed Cloud Services customer experience, operational excellence, and service modernization efforts.
  • Drive delivery of enterprise-scale projects involving ServiceNow, workflow automation, customer service management, cloud operations, and application modernization initiatives.
  • Manage implementation partner relationships and coordinate activities across SAS teams, customers, and external vendors.
  • Establish project governance, budget, timelines, milestones, and delivery plans while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams consisting of business stakeholders, software developers, architects, operations teams, support organizations, and external partners.
  • Partner with MCS leadership to identify risks, remove delivery obstacles, and drive successful business outcomes.
  • Facilitate organizational change management activities supporting new processes, platforms, and operational models.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reporting, financial tracking, and executive communications.
  • Collaborate with product owners, technical leads, and business analysts to define requirements, priorities, success metrics, and implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate customer-facing and internally focused initiatives that improve service delivery, customer engagement, incident management, request fulfillment, and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate project status, strategic recommendations, and risk mitigation plans to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Drive alignment across multiple organizations to achieve successful delivery of highly visible, business-critical programs.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Business or Technology related field
  • At least 8+ years of project management experience
  • At least 5 years of service in implementing technology solutions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Aptitude to learn, understand and communicate technical concepts, structures, requirements, environments, etc. to all layers of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and direct the work of other functional teams across organizational boundaries
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cloud services, managed services, customer operations, or enterprise service management organizations.
  • Experience implementing ServiceNow or similar workflow automation platform.
  • Experience leading large-scale business transformation initiatives involving process redesign and organizational change.
  • Experience working with AI Operations (AIOps), automation initiatives, monitoring platforms, or operational excellence programs.
  • Proven success managing projects involving multiple vendors, implementation partners, and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience working in highly matrixed environments with distributed technical and business teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders ranging from operational teams to executive leadership and customer executives.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent certification.
