JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

Abbott is seeking a Sr. IT Program Manager to lead the new Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) program within the Business Technology organization. The role combines enterprise program leadership with commercial technology delivery and is accountable for coordinating the business, technology, operational, and vendor workstreams required to implement and sustain scalable quoting, pricing, contracting, and customer relationship management capabilities.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven Information Technology professional with a proven record of leading complex, cross-functional programs. The candidate will align technology delivery with business strategy, establish disciplined program governance, build strong relationships across business and IT groups, and manage internal teams, manage service providers, system integrators, and software vendors through implementation, deployment, stabilization, and ongoing operations.

Experience should include:
  • Management of strategic technology programs with an emphasis on client collaboration, program execution, and operational delivery
  • Salesforce platform delivery and sustainment
  • Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, including Conga or comparable commercial platforms
  • Managed services and application support operating models
  • Vendor, system integrator, and software provider management
  • Strategic planning, demand management, process improvement, project management, release management, and operations management
  • Application development, integration delivery, and regulated-industry implementations

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate interrelated CPQ, Salesforce, CLM, integration, data, testing, change, deployment, and operational readiness initiatives, managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
  • Partner with business leaders and executive IT stakeholders to define program objectives, business outcomes, success measures, business cases, delivery roadmaps, and long-term investment priorities.
  • Establish and lead program governance, including decision rights, stage gates, operating cadence, executive reporting, escalation paths, and workstream accountability.
  • Develop and maintain the integrated program plan and ensure alignment across business processes, applications, architecture, integration, data, security, quality, testing, release, deployment, change management, training, and support activities.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for cross-functional teams, including internal employees, project managers, architects, product or platform teams, managed service providers, system integrators, and software vendors.
  • Own deployment management across the program, including release planning, environment readiness, cutover coordination, go-live execution, hypercare, stabilization, and transition to operations.
  • Provide program oversight for Salesforce and CLM capabilities and ensure that solution decisions support approved commercial processes, architecture standards, security expectations, operational supportability, and business outcomes.
  • Coordinate Salesforce and CLM roadmaps, releases, dependencies, technical debt, platform capacity, and sustainment priorities across project and managed services teams.
  • Govern managed services performance, including service delivery expectations, demand intake, enhancement execution, incident and problem management, release performance, knowledge transfer, service levels, operational reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendors and delivery partners across the program lifecycle, including statements of work, deliverables, commitments, dependencies, resource plans, performance, financials, risks, escalations, and contractual obligations.
  • Hold the system integrator, managed service provider, and software vendors accountable for clear deliverables, acceptance criteria, quality, timelines, staffing commitments, and issue resolution.
  • Facilitate joint planning and governance among Abbott teams, the system integrator, Salesforce, Conga, managed service providers, and other vendors to maintain one integrated delivery model.
  • Assess and manage scope changes, risks, issues, defects, and resource constraints; drive timely decisions and align sponsors and leadership on resolution strategies.
  • Track and report program performance against approved plans, forecasts, budgets, and outcomes, providing transparent and decision-oriented communication to project teams, divisional leadership, and executive management.
  • Facilitate workshops to document current-state and future-state processes, clarify requirements, identify cross-functional impacts, and align business and technology teams on scalable solutions.
  • Serve as the program escalation point for critical delivery, vendor, operational, quality, and platform issues and coordinate resolution with accountable leaders.
  • Ensure business readiness, communications, training, adoption, support, and sustainment activities are integrated into the program plan and deployment decisions.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate project managers and cross-functional program teams, reinforcing delivery standards, clear accountability, and disciplined execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies, procedures, quality expectations, security requirements, software lifecycle controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Make strategic program recommendations and decisions that influence divisional or enterprise-level outcomes.
  • Travel domestically up to approximately 5% as required.

Education and Experience You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 12 years of combined experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development, deployment, or IT operations, including at least 9 years managing projects or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional technology programs with multiple workstreams, executive stakeholders, and external delivery partners.
  • Experience with CPQ platforms and quoting and pricing processes; Conga CPQ and Salesforce experience is preferred.
  • Experience delivering and sustaining Salesforce solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with CLM platforms and contracting processes.
  • Experience establishing or governing managed services for enterprise applications, including service levels, support processes, resource capacity, enhancement demand, releases, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong vendor-management experience across software providers, managed service providers, system integrators, and contract-based delivery relationships.
  • Experience managing statements of work, vendor deliverables, financial commitments, resource plans, dependencies, performance, and escalations.
  • Knowledge of CRM, quoting, pricing, contracting, approvals, system integrations and data flows (including ETL ERP and CRM, CPQ, CLM, and data platforms), release management, DevOps practices, testing, deployment, and operational support.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Conga CLM experience is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated healthcare, medical device, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environment is preferred.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable program plans and sustainable solution outcomes.
  • Strong executive communication, presentation, facilitation, negotiation, written, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and lead teams effectively in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Program or project management certification such as PgMP or PMP is preferred; agile certification is beneficial.
