In this position...
As a Sr Infotainment Component Engineer, you will be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for Ford's High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC) and Telematics Control Unit (TCU) across their complete vehicle lifecycle.
You will lead a broad technical community spanning systems engineering, software, electrical hardware, validation, manufacturing, service, cybersecurity, quality, program management, and suppliers. Success requires the ability to understand system behavior, identify integration risk early, and drive issues to durable resolution.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
• Lead component integration: Coordinate hardware, software, calibration, diagnostics, cybersecurity, validation, and production teams to integrate ECUs into the vehicle electrical system across bench, HIL, vehicle build, commissioning, and production readiness activities.
• Manage suppliers: Partner closely with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure internally developed hardware and software are built to specification, meet quality expectations, and are delivered on schedule.
• Validate bench and lab-car functionality: Confirm system behavior, interface readiness, and integration maturity across bench, desktop, and lab-car environments before vehicle-level validation.
• Drive root-cause resolution: Lead structured investigation of software, hardware, network, diagnostic, and vehicle-level issues.
• Own verification planning: Ensure verification plans cover functional behavior, electrical performance, communications, diagnostics, cybersecurity, environmental conditions, and vehicle integration.
• Control release readiness and manage change: Ensure hardware, software, calibration, drawings, requirements, interface definitions, configuration records, diagnostics, network behavior, and supplier content are complete, controlled, and released at program milestones.
• Support launch readiness: Partner with plant and manufacturing engineering to establish calibration routines, configuration writes, VIN consumption, in-line factory software programming, netloader operations, dealer service diagnostics, supplier recovery actions, production readiness, service readiness, and post-launch technical support.
Qualifications
You'll have...
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience: 7+ years of automotive ECU/embedded systems engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex electronic control systems from development through vehicle launch.
• Module Ownership & Launch Execution: Proven ability to lead ECU or electronic control module delivery through DVP&R execution, BOM management, supplier coordination, vehicle integration, validation, and high-volume launch readiness.
• ECU Configuration & Diagnostics: Experience with bootloader interfaces, vehicle configuration, calibration, end-of-line programming, and service diagnostics.
• Issue Resolution & Leadership: Experience leading structured cross-functional issue resolution and managing integration dependencies for complex ECU programs throughout development and launch.
• Change Control: Experience assessing and controlling engineering changes that impact component behavior, cost, timing, quality, or vehicle integration.
• Lab & Diagnostic Tooling: Hands-on experience with automotive network/protocol analyzers, diagnostic loggers, oscilloscopes, and software debugging tools.
• Safety & Quality Methodologies: Experience applying FMEA, HARA, and ISO 26262 functional safety standards.

• Connectivity Integration: Experience integrating vehicle telematics platforms across 4G/5G cellular, single/dual-band GNSS, Wi-Fi, and 100Base-T1 Ethernet, including validation of highbandwidth, cloud-connected vehicle features.
• System Interface Coordination: Experience coordinating HPCC-TCU interfaces such as VLAN routing, and OTA orchestration across cross-functional engineering, quality, purchasing, and plant teams.
• Compute & Power Architecture: Strong understanding of multi-SoC hardware architectures, 48V low-voltage power systems, power management, sleep/wake behavior, thermal constraints, signal integrity, and vehicle communications.
• UDS Diagnostics: Deep working knowledge of UDS routines and commands, DTCs, DIDs, Component Master Authority (CMA), Service $27 security access, and diagnostic softwareupdate workflows.
• Cybersecurity: Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity controls, authenticated communications, secure diagnostics, secure bootloader interfaces, and threat-driven interface requirements.
• PLM & Release Processes: Experience managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and release processes within PLM systems such as 3DX or ENOVIA.
• Requirements Management: Experience managing and cascading component functional and interface requirements using industry-standard requirements-management platforms.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $138,800-$232,700.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
