Overview

Schedule: Day Shift

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Sr. Healthcare Interior Designer is responsible for maintaining and updating CHLA finish standards, including furniture, artwork and signages. Must be able to independently research, evaluate and select materials, fabrics and furniture as part of maintaining the finishing standards and as new needs arise. Produce schematic finish packages based on CHLA finish standards in support of donor funding opportunities, for approval by end users and enterprise leaders. May include development of floor plans, pattern design, nurse stations, elevations, room finishes, etc. Department Capital Project Managers are responsible for design and construction of the projects they manage. The Sr. Healthcare Interior Designer will collaborate with the Capital Project Managers and support the capital projects by ensuring design teams have properly used and implemented the CHLA finish standards in construction projects. Includes assisting the various design teams as needed and final review/ approval of the construction documents. Lead, under the guidance of the Director of Planning and Design, specific enterprise initiative projects (wayfinding/ capital renewal). Assist in and lead stakeholder meetings and work groups, document objectives and effectively analyze need vs. wants. Self-starter, able to independently research, evaluate and select materials, fabrics and furniture as part of maintaining CHLA design standards and as new needs arise. Be familiar with applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction i.e., DBS, HCAI and healthcare regulating bodies i.e., CMS, CDPH, etc.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:
  • 10+ years of related experience, with a minimum of 7 years in healthcare-specific projects.
  • Knowledge of healthcare-specific regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with evidence-based design principles and regulatory compliance for healthcare environments.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Pay Scale Information

USD $95,326.00 - USD $127,088.00
