Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Implements and maintains company policies adhering to state health and safety regulations.
  • Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes health and safety recommendations accordingly.
  • Develops and implements health and safety programs
  • Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating health and safety policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
  • Serves as contact with federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used safety engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Works under immediate supervision of the Torrance HSE&F Manager.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE:
• 5 years of directly related experience in health and safety practice.
• Strong experience and technical knowledge with occupational safety and injury prevention programs

WE VALUE:
• Certifications in safety and/or industrial hygiene (CIH or CSP)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline
• Master's degree in occupational health and safety
• Experience in aerospace or manufacturing
• Experience with Cal/OSHA safety regulations
• Experience with Cal/OSHA safety regulations
• Experience with safety engineering practices such as machine guarding, LOTO, PPE, training, contractor safety and emergency preparedness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Visio

The annual base salary range for this position in Torrance, CA is $106,000 to $135,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
