ResponsibilitiesNew hybrid opportunity based in Billerica, Massachusetts for a Senior General Ledger Accountant to support legal entities within Bruker US, coordinating with other functional areas, and assuring daily operations are met within compliance / operational guidelines. Will coordinate with division business partners, corporate, technical accounting teams, and Internal Controls and assist with quarterly / annual audits. The completion and review of monthly and quarterly financial statements, management reporting supplementals and Balance Sheet reconciliations within the Internal Control framework is a key area of responsibility along with communication with key stakeholders and leaders. This position will report within the Americas Regional Finance team.
- Support GL processing and recording of transactions for US entities of Bruker, includes but not limited to cash, net change in inventory and reserves, IC transactions, other assets, accruals, foreign currency transactions, liabilities and equity.
- Assess accounting treatment and determine appropriate GL impact using US GAAP, company policy, and professional judgment
- Create complex journal entries and provide supporting documents. Preparation for GL Lead or higher level to review details and post journals. Supporting team members as required.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger by ensuring accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve issues independently prior to escalation.
- Perform variance analysis and root-cause investigations for balance sheet and P&L fluctuations, clearly articulating drivers and conclusions.
- Review and analyze financials for US GAAP Financials, complete all supplemental reporting for submission to controlling team.
- Perform post-closing activities (both system and process oriented).
- Prepare SOX controls and balance sheet reconciliations that fully explain activity, movements, and conclusions, requiring minimal reviewer follow-up.
- Assure internal controls are met within the framework.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Participate in Finance projects as directed.
- Build and maintain business relationships and maintain customer focus, with all parties being responsive to deadlines, deliverables and operational requirements.
- Communicate effectively across Finance and Business Teams, including escalation approach.
- Assist with improvement and efficiency of the close process while achieving desired results.
- Meet personal, team and overall financial goals.
Qualifications- Bachelor Degree in Accounting is required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of recent General Ledger work experience required within a publicly traded manufacturing company.
- Strong working knowledge of US accounting and audit regulations, with integrity in the application of standards.
- Prior experience with merger and acquisition integration of systems and processes into mainstream US entities.
- Advanced proficiency with SAP S4/Hana and MS Office Suite; Excel advanced / intermediate expertise required.
- Strong business acumen, analysis, and reporting skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, quantitative, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills including workload prioritization and time management.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $74,700 and $133,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position.
