Join a world-class team in Jersey City, as a Sr Financial Crime Crypto Compliance Specialist. In this position you will support and oversee Financial Crime Compliance operations within a regulated cryptocurrency and financial services environment, with responsibility for helping establish and scale a managed compliance operation. The role is client-facing and will operate in a player-coach capacity, overseeing daily activities across transaction monitoring, screening, and Travel Rule workflows while driving high-quality, scalable compliance execution. The position also includes hands-on case support, close collaboration with offshore delivery teams, and leadership across quality assurance, operational oversight, and stakeholder management. WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE
As a Sr Financial Crime Crypto Compliance Specialist, you will:
- Support the design, implementation, and scale-up of Financial Crime Compliance operations across onshore and offshore teams.
- Serve as the primary FCC liaison between key stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring compliance requirements, service expectations, are clearly communicated and executed.
- Partner with compliance stakeholders to establish and scale operational processes across transaction monitoring, KYC/customer due diligence, sanctions screening, blockchain monitoring, Travel Rule reviews, fraud investigations, and suspicious activity escalation.
- Translate FCC policies, procedures, risk requirements, and controls into operational processes,
- Support team onboarding, workforce planning, training, documentation, and go-live readiness.
- Coordinate the transition of compliance activities to teams while maintaining clear decision authority, escalation ownership, and regulatory accountability.
- Advise leadership and operational teams on compliance requirements, investigation standards, case documentation, risk indicators, and escalation thresholds.
- Serve as the day-to-day coordination point for stakeholders and delivery teams on operational issues, process updates, control changes, staffing needs, system constraints, and quality concerns.
- Lead training, knowledge transfer, and calibration sessions to promote consistent interpretation and application of compliance policies and procedures.
- Support the development of quality control and quality assurance processes, including case sampling, investigation reviews, error tracking, feedback, remediation, and ongoing calibration.
- Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, training needs, and control weaknesses and support remediation.
- Prepare materials and reporting for audits, regulatory reviews, partner requests, and governance needs.
- Help build a scalable FCC operating model with strong oversight, effective controls, and clear accountability.

Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7+ years of combined experience in financial crime compliance, BSA/AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, KYC, investigations, compliance operations
- 2-3 years combined experience in crypto compliance, complex blockchain analytics investigations and Travel Rule compliance
- Operational knowledge across AML, sanctions, KYC, suspicious activity escalation, and case management
- Experience Designing, implementing, transitioning, and scaling compliance operations
- 18 Years of age or older with a completed High School Diploma or GED
- Hands-on experience with transaction monitoring and investigations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer navigation skills and PC Knowledge
- Established organizational skills with the ability to prioritize levels of urgency within an assigned case load
- Tolerance for repetitive work in a fast-paced, high production work environment
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently and collaboratively
- High attention to detail and quality standards
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industry-standard tools such as: Actimize, Unit21, Chainalysis, Notabene
- Prior experience in a client-facing role within a managed services or consulting environment or direct crypto firm.
- Leadership experience with compliance operations teams preferred
- CAMS Certification
- BA/BS degree or above

- The salary for this position is $100,000 to 120,000 Annually, plus incentives that align with individual and company performance.
