We are currently hiring a Full-Time, Sr. Financial Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts, hybrid.

As a Senior Financial Analyst supporting Procurement, you'll serve as a key financial partner driving cost management, budgeting, forecasting, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing decisions. You'll provide data-driven insights into material costs, procurement performance, and market trends while helping ensure sourcing strategies align with broader business and financial goals. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering across functions, solving complex business challenges, and influencing decision-making through analytics.

*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule.

What You'll Brew:
  • Partner closely with Procurement teams to provide end-to-end financial support for direct sourcing activities.
  • Develop financial analyses and business cases to support supplier negotiations, contract reviews, and sourcing decisions.
  • Deliver reporting and analytics on commodity purchasing, pricing, standard costs, and Purchase Price Variance (PPV) performance.
  • Lead forecasting, planning, and financial reporting related to procurement costs and direct materials spending.
  • Conduct variance analyses and develop quarterly and planning-cycle bridge analyses highlighting key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Identify cost-saving and pricing opportunities and validate procurement savings initiatives that contribute to company goals.
  • Monitor market trends, commodity risks, tariffs, and industry developments to assess potential financial impacts.
  • Collaborate with Operations Planning, Purchasing, Product Development, Cost Accounting, and Finance teams to optimize resources and improve business outcomes.
  • Leverage company systems and support continuous improvement efforts to automate cost-of-goods-sold analytics and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Work in a standard office environment with occasional travel as needed and be able to sit for extended periods while using a computer.


What Ingredients You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Methods, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience applying financial modeling and analytical skills in a business environment.
  • Experience in cost accounting, financial planning and forecasting, statistical modeling, and cost analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data from multiple sources and communicate findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform bending, twisting, and reaching as needed.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Experience within consumer products or related industries.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills and experience using Microsoft Power BI.


Level: 5IC

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $88,000 and $138,000. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
