This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical, critical thinker with interpersonal skills who thrives in a fast-paced, ever changing environment who handles ambiguity with confidence to serve as the Financial Business Partner for our Blue Thrusters program. In this key role, you will interact directly with Blue Thrusters program leadership while partnering with team members across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and test operations to drive financial excellence and program success within Blue Origin's Engines business unit.

As the financial steward for the Blue Thrusters program, you will provide comprehensive financial analysis and strategic guidance to program leadership. In this role, your financial strategies and insights will directly impact Blue Origin's ability to develop cost-effective propulsion systems that are essential to reducing launch costs and enabling sustainable lunar exploration. You'll develop insights on cost performance trends, create financial models to evaluate program decisions, and establish metrics to track program financial health. You'll have the opportunity to leverage cutting-edge AI tools to design and implement progressive approaches to financial modeling and forecasting processes that are as innovative as our rockets. Your financial expertise will be instrumental in helping the Blue Thrusters team make informed business decisions that balance technical excellence with fiscal responsibility as we work to make space more accessible for everyone.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead program financial management, including budget tracking and financial forecasting
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated cost models for R&D and production environments
  • Coordinate cross-functional financial reviews and guide strategic resource allocation
  • Mentor junior analysts and coordinate workstreams across finance projects
  • Analyze production efficiency metrics and R&D investment returns to optimize spending
  • Create and present executive-level financial analysis for leadership decision making
  • Design and implement financial controls and reporting systems for program governance
  • Pioneer new financial methodologies using AI and advanced analytics tools
  • Oversee financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies across the engines portfolio
  • Drive continuous cost improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations
  • Manage complex financial planning processes across R&D and production activities


Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient in ERP tools, financial databases, and accounting software
  • Ability to develop advanced Excel financial models based on multiple inputs, constraints, and scenarios
  • Experience in helping business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
  • Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM field
  • 8+ years of financial analysis experience
  • Experience with data mining and SQL
  • Drive to optimize processes and methods incorporating advanced AI tools
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in ERP tools, financial databases, and accounting software
  • Ability to develop advanced Excel financial models based on multiple inputs, constraints, and scenarios


Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience leading or championing AI tools for financial analysis and process improvement
  • Proficiency in Python and workflow automation tools (Alteryx, Databricks, Tableau Prep)
  • Proficiency in Tableau or Microsoft BI
  • Experience in financial management of high-rate production
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technology sectors


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $124,476.00 - $174,265.35
