Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on mission computers and sensors for US Customs and Border Protection
  • Repair items to shop replaceable assembly (SRA) and component levels
  • Support installations of mission sensors and computer systems for military aircraft
  • Analyze and troubleshoot hardware and software issues as they arise
  • Interact directly with government customers, OEMs, and contractors
  • Adapt to high-tempo work environments both independently and within teams
  • Ensure compliance with the US Navy tool control program and procedures

Full Job Description
Description
  • Supporting US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), performing intermediate and depot level maintenance of designated mission computers and mission sensors to include, but not limited to: Minotaur Mission Processor (MP), Minotaur Workstation (WS), DHC-8 mission computers, MQ-9 mission computers, and associated sensor equipment installations
  • Repairing designated items that will be made to the shop replaceable assembly (SRA) level at a minimum, and to the component level whenever practical

Requirements
  • Eight years of experience in avionics as a shop technician

  • Experienced with maintaining mission computers associated with military aircraft and ground stations

Desired Skills
  • Operational and maintenance experience with ruggedized mission computers and Linux operating system variants
  • Ability to analyze and interpret schematics and familiarity with specialized test equipment and soldering stations
  • Must be comfortable working in high tempo environments and interfacing directly with government customers, their designated agents, OEM’s and third party contractors
    • Must be equally comfortable working on solo projects and within small teams
  • Extensive analytical, organizational, and troubleshooting skills involving hardware and software related issues
  • Ability to stand or walk while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling heavy objects
    • This job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in both flight line and depot lab environments and familiarity with US Navy tool control program
  • Background in naval aviation strongly preferred
