Job SummaryWe are hiring a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on solving complex semiconductor IC failures. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who enjoys deep-dive analysis, advanced FA tools, and cross-functional problem solving. You will play a key role in identifying failure mechanisms, driving root cause analysis, and helping improve product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction for advanced semiconductor products.
Responsibilities:- Lead electrical and physical failure analysis investigations from initial fault isolation through root cause conclusion.
- Analyze failures from customer returns, qualification, reliability testing, and new product development to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
- Collaborate with design, product, test, system, reliability, and customer engineering teams to improve design robustness, test coverage, and manufacturing quality.
- Prepare clear FA summaries, technical reports, and leadership updates that support timely decision-making.
- Strengthen FA best practices, share lessons learned, and help improve overall analysis efficiency and reporting consistency.
Qualifications & Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor IC failure analysis.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor device structures, processes, and common failure mechanisms; MEMS experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with fault isolation, functional verification, and root cause failure analysis.
- Hands-on experience with advanced FA tools and techniques, including micro-probing, SEM/EDX, silicon device deprocessing, FIB, and mechanical cross-sectioning.
- Knowledge of 2D/3D X-ray inspection, EMMI/OBIRCH, thermal imaging, decapsulation, and semiconductor reliability testing.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to engineering teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage priorities, drive investigations, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field is required; master's degree is preferred.

The annual base salary range for this role is $124,930 - $171,770. The final offer is determined by factors such as location, experience, education, and training.
