Job Description

This is a fully onsite role based at our 2244 Dabney Road location in Richmond, VA. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Please note that relocation assistance is not provided for this position, and any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

Discover Impactful Work:

This position will perform preventive maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment. In addition to refrigeration-specific responsibilities, this role supports broader facility operations by completing assigned work orders. This position will also conduct quality control QC of maintenance documentation, ensuring preventive maintenance and repair records are completed correctly, consistently, and in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Provides team support through the coordination and performance of diverse activities related to laboratory and facility services, shipping and receiving supply chain functions, building and equipment maintenance, and project development.

A Day in the Life:
• Responsible for the day-to-day activities of specified area.
• Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information.
• Performs inspections to ensure timeliness, compliance with requirements, and acceptable workmanship.
• Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations.
• Coordinates activities of non-staff vendors, including subcontractors, landlords, shipping and receiving carriers, and mail services.
• Responds to facility-related emergencies, as assigned.
• Develops criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment requires to meet unique operating and business requirements.
• Generates purchase requisitions and maintains records of expenditures.
• Recommends and implements procedures to improve service delivery.
• Coordinates documentation to comply with Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and Change Control processes.

Keys to Success:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Journeyman's Card, State License and or (CFC) certification preferred
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other platforms
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Effective negotiation skills
• Basic understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, security, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or light general construction may be required
• Ability to effectively interact with outside vendors and internal customers
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
• Comfort with ambiguity and effectiveness during periods of uncertainty and change
• May require knowledge and understanding of computerized maintenance and work order systems
• May require a strong understanding of security systems

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Virginia is $40.00-$45.00.
