Full Job Description
SUMMARY: The Sr. Estimating Manager is responsible for leading the estimating team and overseeing the preparation of accurate and competitive bids for electrical construction projects. This role plays a critical part in strategic planning, cost analysis, and ensuring project profitability. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in electrical estimating, strong leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the estimating team in the preparation of detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for electrical construction projects.
  • Develop and implement best practices for estimating processes, cost control, and pricing strategies.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Work closely with preconstruction, project management, and business development teams to align estimating efforts with company objectives.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide detailed risk assessments and cost analyses for project bids.
  • Oversee the development of conceptual and design-build estimates, collaborating with engineering and design teams.
  • Ensure estimates are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with market conditions.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to enhance business opportunities.
  • Train, mentor, and develop junior estimators and team members.


EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of electrical estimating experience, preferably within commercial or industrial construction.
  • 5+ years of leadership or management experience in estimating.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, labor productivity, and material costs.
  • Expertise in estimating software (Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and safety standards.
