Job Description:Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented
Senior Environmental Planner to join our team! In this role you will get to work on multiple projects and utilize your experience in the project execution process in southern Nevada. .
What You'll Be Doing:- In this role, you will support a water agency in southern Nevada serving more than 2.2 million residents as the wholesale water provider. The capital projects encompass new infrastructure, new water resources including conservation initiatives, and major improvements and upgrades to the existing water system.
- Coordinates with environmental planners in resources agencies, construction managers and construction contractors and solicits outside expertise from subcontractors. Reviews agency handbooks and standard guidance materials to ensure environmental document consistency.
- Reviews Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Permits and develops compliance matrices of the requirements contained in the permits.
- Lead preparation and management of NEPA documents, including: Categorical Exclusions (CEs), Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs)
- Serve as a subject matter expert on ESA compliance
- Reviews tortoise training and environmental species training for compliance with BLM permits, Federal Laws and Regulations.
- May conduct the training as needed.
- Ensuring adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and permits.
- Evaluating the environmental impact of operations and identifying potential risks.
- Overseeing waste disposal, recycling programs, and hazardous materials handling.
- Responding to environmental incidents, such as spills or leaks.
- Preparing reports on environmental performance and compliance.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors and consultants.
- Assembles, integrates and analyzes collected and existing data; prepares technical reports and oral presentations summarizing investigation results; prepares staff reports, correspondence and other proposals.
- Assists in the development of and participates in preparation of notices and other public involvement materials. May help conduct public meetings, develop subsequent response to comments, and assist in other aspects of compiling the administrative record.
- Identifies research needs and performs analysis to complete work required by the engineering design team as part of the project delivery process. Develops and completes spreadsheets to capture, organize and present complex data.
- Participates in the continuing development of construction plans and other projects based on statewide, regional, and local needs.
- Helps track permit conditions and other environmental commitments through development of later project phases, including preparation of plans, specifications and estimates.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field (or related field)
- 10+ years experience in environmental planning and permitting
- Expertise in NEPA documentation and ESA compliance
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.

Salary Range: $103,500.00 - $181,100.00
