Full Job Description
As Sr. Enterprise Architect III, you'll shape the technology strategy for complex enterprise environments. You will connect cloud, cybersecurity, data, applications, networks, and operations into cohesive architectures and roadmaps that guide modernization and long-term technology decisions.

What you'll do:
  • Enterprise Architecture: Develop and maintain enterprise architectures that align cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, applications, networks, and operational capabilities with government organizational objectives and long-term technology strategy.
  • Technology Strategy & Roadmaps: Develop enterprise technology strategies, target-state architectures, modernization roadmaps, and transition plans that guide the evolution of legacy and emerging technology environments.
  • Cloud Architecture: Define enterprise cloud architecture patterns and standards for Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, interoperable, and cost-effective.
  • Architecture Governance: Establish and facilitate architecture governance processes, technical review boards, reference architectures, design standards, and decision frameworks to ensure technology solutions align with enterprise objectives.
  • Solution Integration: Evaluate complex technical requirements and develop integrated architectures spanning cloud platforms, networks, cybersecurity, identity, applications, data, DevSecOps, and enterprise services.
  • Zero Trust & Cybersecurity Architecture: Incorporate Zero Trust principles, identity-centric security, network segmentation, data protection, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity requirements into enterprise architecture designs.
  • Modernization & Transformation: Assess legacy systems and technical debt while developing modernization strategies that leverage cloud-native services, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), APIs, containers, and other modern engineering practices.
  • Architecture Analysis: Evaluate emerging technologies, architectural alternatives, technical dependencies, risks, costs, and tradeoffs to provide informed recommendations to organizational and technical leadership.
  • Standards & Documentation: Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts, reference architectures, system diagrams, technical standards, interface definitions, architecture decision records, and technology roadmaps.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with client and organizational leadership, program management, solution architects, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, application teams, and other stakeholders to translate business, operational, and security requirements into cohesive enterprise technology solutions.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise IT, systems engineering, cloud architecture, solution architecture, or related technical disciplines.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale architectures across cloud, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, applications, or data environments.
  • Strong experience architecting Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments, including compute, networking, identity, storage, security, monitoring, and platform services.
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture strategies, target-state architectures, reference architectures, technology roadmaps, and modernization plans.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture, Azure Landing Zones, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure networking, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and enterprise governance.
  • Experience designing architectures incorporating Zero Trust, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, automation, API integration, containerization, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise, public sector, or regulated environments and developing architectures aligned with NIST, RMF, security authorization, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Experience evaluating technology alternatives, architectural tradeoffs, technical risks, interoperability requirements, and lifecycle considerations across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for client and organizational leadership, program management, and engineering teams.

SALARY RANGE:$150,000.00 - $190,000.00

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:
  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:
    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
