What you’ll be doing...

As a Senior Network Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for the front-line monitoring of the next generation of network elements by performing monitoring network equipment and performing remote triage of the various Verizon backbone and infrastructure networks.

As part of a highly visible team, you are accountable for ensuring high network availability and attainment of service levels. The team operates in a round-the-clock environment to provide continuous management and support of Verizon's RAN (Radio Access Network).

• Providing tactical strategy and direction for all outage and impacting network events.

• Operating as an escalation facilitator, driving projects, creating opportunities for improvement, and managing the group through priority events.

• Managing strategic development / tactical implementation of global response plans to network-impacting events.

• To ensure continuous support, we operate on a three-shift basis (day, swings, and midnight), and your specific schedule will be aligned with the team's operational requirements. Please note that this role includes weekend work and coverage for up to 3 to 7 holidays per year.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or three or more years of work experience.

• Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

• Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, engineering, or related discipline.

• Experience in the telecommunications industry.

​Network Operations Experience.

• Technical knowledge of network equipment and systems.

• Knowledge of data networking protocols including TCP/IP, OSI, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, BFD, SIP, and other LAN/WAN protocols.

• Knowledge of data transmission facilities such as 1G, 10G, and 100G native Ethernet and Ethernet Backhaul.

• Knowledge of Ericsson 4G LTE and/or 5G network elements.

• Experience with Ciena, Nokia, Samsung, and Cisco routers

• Experience with UTP Ticketing and MPC Navigator.
