Full Job Description
Sr. Engineering Technician

Position Summary:
As Engineering Technician, you will provide planning and estimating services in support of the Engineering and Planning Department in the areas of shipboard mechanical systems, electrical systems, structural maintenance and inspection, or naval vessel combat systems. You will support these areas by preparing and reviewing Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) planning and technical work documents. This work includes material research and ordering, preparing Quality Assurance (QA) documents, Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) & Ship's Drawing Index (SDI) drawing research, compiling Allowance Parts Lists (APL), drafting Submarine Maintenance Standards (SMS), and completing Unrestricted Operations/Maintenance Requirement Cards (URO/MRC).

Clearance Specifications:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • At least 10 years practical engineering experience which should include the operation, test, maintenance and repair of naval submarines or equivalent military training and/or experience within a public or private shipyard environment.
  • General knowledge of C200 processes and operations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience in AIM and Trouble Desk
Physical Demands & Expectations
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, standing and prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
