Full Job Description
Pinterest is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the Content Acquisition & Media Platform (CAMP) team. The CAMP team owns the critical platforms for content acquisition, media ingestion and media signal processing. The team closely collaborates with multiple partner teams bringing the most inspiration content to Pinterest to enhance the content foundation of all products, adopting LLM/VLM in a near real-time system to understand content and build fundamental signals for LLM innovations, and standing in the frontier to meet GenAI compliance requirements. What you'll do: • Lead a cross-platform team responsible for content acquisition, media ingestion and media signal platform. • Set the team's technical direction and drive execution on quality, performance, and reliability • Partner closely with Content, Shopping catalog and GenAI teams to improve Pinterest content ecosystem. • Guide the team through platform and architectural decisions, balancing product needs, technical investments, and long-term maintainability. • Build and grow a high-performing team through hiring, coaching, and developing engineers. • Raise the bar on engineering excellence through strong operational practices, performance measurement, testing, and release quality. • Help Pinterest to meet GenAI compliance requirements • Thoughtfully leverage AI tools to speed up design, coding, debugging, and documentation, while applying your own critical thinking to validate outputs and explain how you used AI in your workflow. • Shape our AI-assisted engineering practices by sharing patterns, guardrails, and learnings with the team so we can safely increase our impact without compromising code quality, reliability, or candidate expectations. What we're looking for: • 9+ years of software engineering experience, including distributed system and big data platform • 5+ years of engineering management experience leading strong client or platform engineering teams. • Deep understanding of crawling system, media ingestion, understanding and management, big data process. • Familiarity with search and recommendation system, GenAI compliance. • A track record of delivering meaningful improvements to product experience, system performance, or engineering efficiency. • Ability to lead work across platforms and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners. • Clear communication skills, strong technical judgment, and a people-focused leadership approach. • Experience using AI coding assistants and agentic tools as a force-multiplier, and equally comfortable solving problems from first principles when those tools aren't available.
