Overview

The Senior Engineer, AI Innovations provides subject matter expertise within PDS Health Innovations, driving artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives through advanced problem-solving, technical depth, and hands-on execution. This position evaluates AI/ML technology alternatives and ensures alignment with PDS Health's standards and business goals.

The Senior Engineer, AI Innovations is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML-driven solutions across PDS Health's clinical and operational environments. This role collaborates across teams, mentors junior engineers, and interfaces with business leaders to translate requirements into scalable AI/ML solutions while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, data governance policies, and AI ethics standards.

Responsibilities
  • Lead AI/ML system reliability, performance optimization, and infrastructure capacity planning.
  • Design and implement AI/ML technical systems with focus on reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Mentor others in MLOPs practices, including automation of AI workflows and model deployment pipelines.
  • Drive incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for AI/ML production systems.
  • Design model monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions.
  • Lead implementation and maintain AI specific security protocols and best practices.
  • Optimize computational resource utilization for AI/ML workloads.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities.
  • Evaluate and adopt emerging AI/ML technologies and frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for AI systems.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. In lieu of degree, +5 years of professional experience is required.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in AI/ML engineering, MLOPs, or related fields.
  • Certifications such as AWS Machine Learning Specialty, Google ML Engineer, or Azure AI Engineer.

Preferred
  • Experience in the healthcare (medical or dental industry), retail, or other large enterprise environments.
  • Experience developing FDA compliant technical documentation for AI/ML systems.
