The Opportunity:

The Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill has an opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to strategically plan, organize, and execute programs designed to enhance and maintain the reliability of machinery, ensuring optimal performance in your assigned business unit.

General responsibilities:

Overseeing Reliability: You will take charge of all phases of reliability programs, from initial conception to successful implementation, while also offering vital support during daily and annual maintenance shutdowns. Experience in DMSI or LubeIt helpful.

Delivering Technical Direction and Support: By providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to maintenance and operating teams. You will be instrumental in ensuring seamless mill operations.

Implementing Equipment Tracking and Rebuild Strategies: Your expertise will drive the management of equipment tracking and rebuild programs, leveraging predictive and preventative maintenance techniques to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact production.

Championing Safety and Environmental Standards: You will play a pivotal role in advancing the mill's safety and environmental objectives, with a laser focus on enhancing the reliability of electrical equipment

What you need:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably mechanical, electrical, industrial or paper science engineering).

3-years of reliability experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must be a self-starter that can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proven interpersonal and communications abilities that support strong relationships and cross-functional cooperation throughout the organization.

Project management skills to execute projects with clear timelines and defined agendas.

Strong customer-focused mindset.

Excellent understanding of root cause failure analysis and a demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.

Excellent knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures, to ensure the safety of those working on and in proximity to the work.

Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio & Project).

Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry or similar industry preferred.

The salary range for this position is $104,625.00 - $174,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
