Job DescriptionResponsibilitiesAs a Sr Advanced Software Engr, within our Next-Generation Avionics (NGA) group, you will play an integral role in the design, architecture and deployment of cutting-edge Avionics Display System solutions. The Next Generation Avionics (NGA) Flight Displays Platform team is at the forefront of developing innovative solutions that enhance the situational awareness and decision-making capabilities of pilots. You will work closely with a passionate team of engineers and designers to create and implement forward-thinking software solutions for our cutting-edge Avionics Flight Display Systems.
As a flagship product, the Anthem Integrated Flight Deck System is not just another avionics product; it is a visionary endeavor that employs cutting-edge technologies to redefine how pilots interact with flight information and aircraft systems.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the design, development and implementation robust, high-quality software solutions for cutting-edge Flight Display System platforms, services and/or applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and functionality
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle from concept through deployment, ensuring software meets all functional and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, design software architectures, and implement software modules.
- Take ownership of software modules, deliver innovative features, implement functionalities and contribute to the overall advancement of technology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software with existing avionics systems.
- Identify opportunities for software improvements and optimizations in existing applications

- Stay current with advancements in avionics technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and enhance system capabilities

QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Our team welcomes those with expertise in either low-level embedded software development (C/C++) OR expertise in higher-level embedded, user application, and/or graphics/displays (OpenGL, Vulkan, etc) areas of focus, as well as engineers possessing experience across both domains
WE VALUE- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Understanding various software development life cycles, methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, OpenGL, Vulkan, etc
- Experience developing software in a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS)
- Embedded software development for aerospace, avionics, display technologies, or related industries is of value.
- Experience with Avionics products is of value i.e. Displays & Graphics, Flight Mgmt, Flight Planning, Flight Controls, Flight Displays (PFD), Traffic Collision Avoidance (TCAS), Crew Alert Messaging (CAS), Terrain, Radios, etc
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
- Can quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.
- Exposure to Rendering methodologies (Vulkan/OpenGL/OGLX) is a plus.
