Drive High-Impact Infrastructure Projects Supporting Our Nation's Defense

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is hiring an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide on-site professional support services to the Production Design Construction Division (PDC4) of the Production Design and Construction Directorate (PDC), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE), at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. In this role you will serve as a recognized electrical engineering subject matter expert supporting Navy and Marine Corps facilities from planning through design, construction, and maintenance.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide independent, timely, and professional specialized electrical engineering support, services, and consultation for minor works projects, specific projects, special projects, military construction (MILCON), demolition, maintenance, space utilization, and facilities development.
  • Apply new developments and advanced concepts in electrical engineering to problems not readily treatable by conventionally accepted methods; assess customer requirements and develop innovative solutions.
  • Support new construction and renovation of administration, industrial, research, recreational, medical, security, waterfront, airfield, and living facilities.
  • Design interior and exterior lighting; facility power distribution systems, including standby power generation; telecommunication systems (voice, data, cable TV, Wi-Fi); security systems, including CCTV; grounding and lightning protection systems; medical facility systems; and audio-visual systems.
  • Plan and design site electrical distribution, including medium-voltage switchgear, substations, transformers, and overhead and underground distribution.
  • Review design submittals for compliance with electrical codes and standards; provide feedback to ensure quality, safety, and integration; support acceptance testing and commissioning with troubleshooting recommendations.
  • Participate in conferences with project stakeholders and collaborate with other engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure system coordination and integration with project requirements.

What You Bring:
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional, code-compliant electrical facilities design experience for new construction, including renovation design (required).
  • Expert knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), IEEE C2 (National Electrical Safety Code), the International Building Code, and DoD and Navy guide specifications, criteria, policy, and standard design practices (required).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit, Microsoft Office products, and electrical engineering design and analysis software (required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to consolidate findings of others, evaluate recommendations, and present proposed designs and study results (required).
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Electrical Engineering (desired).
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, supplemented by considerable hands-on facilities design experience (desired).
  • Knowledge of local, state, federal, and foreign country laws, codes, and statutory requirements affecting electrical design throughout the NAVFAC Southeast area of responsibility (AOR) (desired).
  • Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and project management techniques, including the ability to coordinate the work of others and lead teams (desired).
  • A plus: experience with fire alarm systems, emergency power, or integration of life safety codes into facility electrical design.

Work Environment
  • Full-time, on-site position at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; alternative schedules may be considered.
  • Site visits to active construction areas are required. Government-provided PPE (safety vest, hard hat, eye and hearing protection) will be used; safety-toed boots meeting ASTM F2413 are the responsibility of the employee.

Eligibility Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) and favorably complete a Tier 3 background investigation for base and IT system access.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license is required; a company vehicle is provided for performance of on-site duties.
