Full Job Description

The Senior Environmental, Health and SafetySite Leadwill work to create and enforce a culture of safety and implement programs, policies, and assessments to ensure compliance with local, federal, and internal safety regulations and policies.TheSite Leadwill hold the position of Safety Officer and lead the Safety Committee.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience andworkingknowledge of EHS regulations and industry standards, including LOTO, machine safety, ergonomics, chemical safety, and BiosafetyLevel 2 requirements.

  • Safety Officer and lead the Safety Committees.

  • Develop, conduct, and track training of employees on EHS programs.

  • Maintain EHS records,licensesand reporting to local, state, and federal organizations in compliance with regulations.

  • Develop and support implementation of safety policies, procedures, and programsinalignment ofGlobal EHS objectives.

  • Conduct job hazard analysis.Recommendpreventative/correctiveactions.

  • Inspect facilities toidentifyEHS risks.Recommendpreventative/correctiveactions. Engagein regular virtual collaboration with corporate partners to share site performance, coordinate initiatives, and support a unified EHS culture across the organization.

  • Ensure safety data sheets aremaintainedand readily available.

  • Conduct incident investigations andassistin corrective actions.

  • Manage hazardous waste disposal programs.

  • Coordinate safety and environmental audits and testing.

  • Support capital facility expansion and renovation projectsby providingEHS technicalexpertiseand resources to new business and validation and engineering projects with ownership inoutcomes.

  • Manage relations with safety related service providers and vendors.

Requirements:

  • BachelororMasterdegree in EHS, Industrial Hygieneor related discipline.

  • 5+ years of professional experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a regulated industry. Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, or other regulated laboratory related industry experience is required.

  • Working knowledge of Federal and State Regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA)

  • Professional certification in the environmental or safety field (e.g., CHMM, CSP, or CIH) is preferred. Candidates without other relevant professional certifications are required to possess a CSP certification .

  • First Aid/AED/CPR Certification preferred

Our Compensation and Benefits

At Ferring,basesalary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and isdeterminedusing a salary range. The base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $92,000, which is the reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount paid may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities,educationand primary work location. Additional compensation for this role will be provided based on competitive annual incentive compensation targets in the form of an annual bonus - payouts are based on individual and company performance.

Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with a premium differential, inverse to base salary, to be paid by employees, a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, wellness benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees to accrue up to120 hoursin the first four (4) years of employment, and160 hoursin the fifth (5th) year of employment as well as15paid holidays per year.We are proud to offer paid parental leave subject to a minimum period of employment at Ferring.
