The Blueprint (Role Profile)

The Senior eCommerce Analyst, Amazon is a customer-facing sales operations role that sits on our Amazon Account Management team. You'll be a key member of the team supporting one of our largest retail partners.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Support the day-to-day management of the Amazon business, partnering with Account Management, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Brand, Product, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to drive profitable growth.
  • Analyze Amazon sales, profitability, traffic, conversion, inventory, pricing, and operational performance to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain recurring business reporting, dashboards, and scorecards that provide visibility into key account KPIs and translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Support forecasting, annual planning, and ongoing performance management by analyzing historical trends, promotional activity, inventory availability, and other business drivers.
  • Monitor product availability, inventory health, purchase orders, fill rates, and other operational metrics, proactively identifying issues that could impact sales or customer experience.
  • Analyze pricing and competitive activity across Amazon and the broader retail marketplace, identifying changes that may affect sales, profitability, or product availability.
  • Support Amazon profitability management by evaluating product-level economics, fees, freight, trade investment, and other cost-to-serve drivers.
  • Partner with the Amazon Account Management team to prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, including performance analysis, opportunity sizing, and recommended actions.
  • Support promotional planning and post-event analysis, measuring incremental sales, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Working in close collaboration with Brand, Marketing, and Product teams, assist with new product launches and assortment initiatives, coordinating item setup, content readiness, inventory, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues impacting the Amazon business, including ANDON cord alerts, compliance violations, catalog defects, supply chain constraints, and underperforming products, partnering cross-functionally to develop and execute corrective action plans.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to answer critical business questions and support negotiations, investment decisions, assortment changes, and other account initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Amazon's systems, processes, programs, and evolving retail model, becoming a subject-matter resource for the broader organization.
  • Build effective working relationships with Amazon counterparts and internal stakeholders, providing timely analysis and operational support to help the account team execute against its priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting, streamline processes, and improve the quality and speed of decision-making across the Amazon business.


The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in eCommerce, sales operations, retail, category management, analytics, finance, or a related commercial function. Amazon experience is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights and recommended actions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience working with large datasets, pivot tables, lookups, and financial or commercial analyses.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with an understanding of sales, margin, pricing, inventory, forecasting, and other key commercial performance drivers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience working with Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, Amazon Retail Analytics, or similar retailer platforms preferred.
  • Experience within consumer products, durable goods, retail, or an omnichannel environment preferred.
