Full Job Description
Rincon Research Corporation seeks a Sr. DSP/Communications Engineer to create cutting edge solutions to challenging national security and defense signal processing, geolocation, and communication problems. You will work in a multi-disciplinary R&D environment with similarly skilled and motivated electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists/engineers in a highly rewarding personal and professional environment.
What are the primary responsibilities in the Sr. DSP/Communications Engineer position?
Core responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of digital signal processing systems for communication signals, radar signals, and other applications. This includes developing, deploying, maintaining, and testing software-based solutions. System development can include algorithm design, data analysis, hardware control, computational optimization, RF system modeling, field testing, error budget analysis, operational performance analysis, writing efficient software, testing with real data, and providing applications to front-line customer facilities. A key responsibility is staying up-to-date with the signal processing technologies, tools, and methodologies and experimenting with new technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into RRC projects. RRC personnel can expect to work across all functional areas: systems engineering, development, integration and test, deployment and O&M, and experience the direct mission feedback from the customer and seeing your project provide real-world contributions that make a significant difference. You're encouraged and expected to propose things that you believe will improve the applications and frameworks you're working in. The ability to work unsupervised with minimal direction and the ability to self-start is a must.
What required background will make you successful?
Degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or other equivalent field
At least 20 years' experience in a signal processing engineering-related discipline
Subject matter expert in DSP, including deep knowledge of DSP theory and a track record of successful system development
Experience as a project technical lead and/or principal investigator
Experience mentoring other engineers and providing technical advice to program management
Proficient in C++ and/or Python in LINUX environments
Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
Preferred skills:
Cellular communications, satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, cyclostationary techniques
Geolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation and link budgets, RF system design
This position is located at our Colorado Springs, CO office. Remote work/telework is not available for this position.
*The likely salary range for this position is $229,000 to $280,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
What benefits does RRC offer?
100% employer-paid premiums for family medical and dental insurance, employee life insurance, short-term and long-term disability (STD & LTD)
Flexible reimbursement spending accounts for medical expense and dependent care
Immediate participation and vesting in the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401(k) Plan
Employer contributions to RRC's ESOP
Employer matching contributions to the company's 401( k) Plan
Employer discretionary contributions to the company's 401(k) Plan
