Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will design, implement, manage, and maintain our organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role involves troubleshooting complex network issues, leading IT projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business goals.

Work Location: This role is an on-site role with the opportunity to be hybrid. The physical site location is in Scranton, PA.

Work Schedule: First Shift - Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Work Travel: 20% domestic travel

Compensation: Attractive annual salary of $110,000 - $150,000 plus a performance-based bonus, with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and more.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable enterprise network infrastructure, including remote sites.
  • Configure and manage Cisco networks, FortiGate firewalls, VPNs (site-to-site and remote access), and SD-WAN.
  • Lead network security initiatives including segmentation, access control, and policy enforcement.
  • Proactively monitor and optimize network performance using enterprise tools like SolarWinds.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues; serve as the final point of escalation.
  • Perform network capacity planning, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Lead and document project implementations, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, runbooks, and configuration documentation.
  • Mentor team members and promote knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
  • Support compliance, business continuity, and audit-readiness efforts.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise network infrastructure across distributed/remote environments.
  • Certifications: Cisco CCNP, Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced experience with Cisco routing, switching, and wireless (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, Meraki), and FortiGate firewalls (including VPNs, SD-WAN, and UTM features).
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, NAT, ACLs, STP, and QoS.
  • Familiarity with VMware environments and how they integrate with networking infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools, especially SolarWinds, NetFlow, SNMP, and Syslog.
  • Solid understanding of network security, segmentation, SSL inspection, and incident response.
  • Automation/scripting with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell is a plus.
  • Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects independently, mentor junior staff, and support cross-functional collaboration.
