Job Summary
The Sr. Director, Technology Support actively shapes and oversees the execution of technology strategy, provides governance and operational support, manages the development of custom solutions and modifications needed to meet Vistra's Fossil Generation fleet requirements and that optimizes the safe, reliable, regulatory-compliant, and cost-effective operation of Vistra. Additionally, the Sr. Director coordinates the impact and direction of common enterprise technology platforms across Vistra's Fossil Generation fleet.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
• Supporting Vistra executives and fleet management via leadership on key strategic and operational issues related to application development and maintenance.
• Provide leadership for the development and management of technology used in support of the technical and business processes of Vistra
• Provide timely resolution to technology issues that adversely affect the safe, reliable, regulatory-compliant, and cost effective operation of Vistra
• Develop integrated technology solutions that promote and support consistent fleet-wide programs, processes, and procedures in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible
• Optimize the use and application of hardware and software technology throughout Vistra
• Provide leadership and decision making in the review of activities affecting the use of technology to optimize business processes that are important to fossil operations, maintenance, and engineering
• Provide input into the review, prioritization, and approval of technology projects based on their effect on safe, reliable, regulatory-compliant, and cost-effective operation of Vistra
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with power plant stakeholders, IT personnel, vendors, other utilities and related industry contacts, in order to promote a cooperative, productive working environment
• Ensure technology key controls and compliance with GAAP, SOX, and corporate technology management and internal audit requirements
• Provide oversight to the development of departmental budgets and manage O&M, Special Project, and Capital costs within approved budget limits
• Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking specific to enterprise application technology related decisions such as systems consolidation, process optimization and integration of core Vistra's processes such as Procure to Pay, Financials and Planning, HR, Governance, Risk & Compliance including Data Analytics.
• Lead IT Directors and the IT Organization with respect to embracing new and emerging delivery methodologies, operational controls and innovations in application delivery approaches. Contribute to best practices and IT Policy definitions.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• 10+ years of progressive experience or any other equivalent experience and training which provides a commensurate level of knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Strong executive presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated influencing skills, and ability to deliver on commitments via direct and indirect organizational control. Comfortable in a matrixed environment
• Proven experience in technology planning, organization, and development.
• Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems
• Comfortable in an outsourced environment. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage outcomes through governance and service level agreements.
• Proficiency and "hands on" experience in financial planning and reporting, supply chain management, project management
• Possesses external contacts within software industry
• Advanced technical and quantitative skills
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills
