About this Role
The Supply Chain Senior Director leads the end-to-end supply chain strategy and execution for upgrades, retrofits, and new-build facilities in the power generation industry. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective procurement, inventory, and contractor/supplier performance across complex EPC and construction projects. The Senior Director/Director supports field operations, major capital programs, and multi-site construction activities while maintaining compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with project schedules, construction milestones, and company growth plans
- Partner with Project Management and Engineering to support project execution and oversee sourcing for large capital equipment
- Develop category strategies for major spend areas including equipment, steel, electrical systems, civil materials, and construction services
- Negotiate long-term contracts, MSAs, and preferred supplier agreements
- Establish critical-path material strategies to prevent schedule delays and optimize inventory across dispersed project sites
- Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers, fabricators, and specialty contractors and evaluate performance on safety, delivery, cost, and quality
- Manage supply chain budgets tied to project CAPEX and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or schedule
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions due to weather, supplier failure, or logistics constraints
- Lead multi-site teams across procurement, warehousing, and project supply chain functions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Construction, Engineering, Finance, HSE, and Project Controls
- Develop future supply chain talent and build a high-performance culture
- Perform additional duties as required to support project objectives
- Support change management activities including review of change orders and contract correspondence
- Identify, track, and communicate contractual risks, issues, and obligations
- Support claims avoidance efforts and assist with claims preparation or resolution when required
- Coordinate contract-related communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain complete and accurate contract documentation and records
- Perform additional duties as required to support project objectives
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 12-15+ years of supply chain experience in equipment sourcing, construction, EPC, power generation, or industrial sectors.
- 5–8+ years in leadership roles supporting field construction or capital projects.
- Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracting practices, and commercial risk concepts and procurement
- Experience with power generation facilities (gas, coal, nuclear, renewable), EPC project supply chains, and multi-site construction operations
- Strong procurement and contract negotiation expertise
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements in industrial construction
- Strong financial, analytical, and risk management skills
- Experience supporting project execution teams with contract interpretation and compliance
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with large capital programs and geographically dispersed construction operations
- Proficiency with supply chain systems and tools
- Demonstrated results in supply chain cost reduction and minimizing schedule delays attributable to material issues
