The Pricing Analyst V leads activities associated with the development of cost/price proposals, including strategic planning, analysis, spreadsheet development, and budget analysis. This is a remote position; a candidate local to an Amentum HQ facility (Chantilly, VA) or with the ability to travel is preferred. This position is US remote telework and US citizenship is required.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversees cost/price volume responses for medium to complex proposals with minimal supervision
- Prepares cost models, cost narratives and any other cost/price volume requirements
- Ensures compliance with the estimating system manual as well as other policies and procedures
- Performs quality assurance reviews to ensure that cost/price volume components are accurate and responsive to solicitation requirements
- Develops and implements proposal strategies for achieving company objectives
- Provides pricing guidance and support, as required, to field personnel performing pricing related activities
- Acts as a mentor, coordinating and directing other members of the pricing staff on larger complex proposals
- Interfaces with Operations, Business Development and Functional Support groups to obtain/develop data necessary for developing prices or other components of a cost/price volume
- Leads Pricing function in close cooperation with the capture/proposal team, leads the development of strategic pricing strategies, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements when applicable.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of proposal development and strategy that includes contract cost and pricing principles that translates efforts in acquiring new and follow-on business
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to review and write pricing narrative responses
- Extensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Working knowledge of U.S. Government structure and agency acquisition procedures and policies for identifying and developing potential business opportunities
- Extensive knowledge of the components of basis of estimates and bills of materials
- Data-driven and continuous learning mindset — Candidates should demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly, including leveraging AI to automate repetitive tasks, synthesize information, improve communication, and accelerate problem solving while maintaining human judgment and accountability.
- Ability to evaluate and apply emerging technologies — Candidates should be comfortable assessing new AI-enabled tools and processes, identifying practical use cases, validating outputs, understanding limitations/risk, and incorporating AI responsibly into day-to-day work.
- Demonstrated AI fluency and workflow integration — Candidates should have experience using AI tools to enhance workflows, productivity, decision-making, customer experiences, business outcomes, or operational efficiency.
- Advanced Excel and mathematical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities to produce a large volume of high-quality material with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience leading pricing strategies/structures, complex pricing analysis and complex financial modeling.
- Demonstrated experience supporting advanced energy solutions, sustainability initiatives, and environmental programs for the nation’s defense, Department of Energy, and commercial partners preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- Typically 12 years with a Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline, or Masters degree and 8 years (two (2) years’ experience in contracts or pricing may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college) experience in cost proposal preparation or cost proposal development; relevant finance experience may be considered for some years in lieu of cost proposal preparation and development.
- Experience supporting the nation's defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors across key areas, including base operations support and infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise IT, as well as intelligence and analysis preferred.
- Must be able to work extended hours, often with short notice, to meet deadlines.
- US Citizenship is Required.
- Currently holding a US Security Clearance or ability to obtain a US Security Clearance is preferred.
Compensation Details:
$148k - $185k
