The Index Data Platform Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping Nasdaq's Index Platform by leading the strategy for onboarding, standardizing, and transforming vendor and internal data into production-ready assets. This role is responsible for defining business requirements and data methodologies that support the construction, calculation, and dissemination of Nasdaq's global indexes. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in index data for equity indexes, with deep knowledge of vendor ecosystems, data transformation logic, and downstream API and AI enablement.
- Strategic Vision & Planning - Define and communicate the platform vision and strategy, specifically in respect of data strategy and data management, aligning with business goals and objectives. Lead ideation sessions to generate platform features and enhancements, leveraging market insights and user feedback. Facilitate and own the platform roadmap, including creating Lean Canvases, User Story Maps, and Epics.
- Technical Aptitude - Understand platform architecture, technology, and interactions with other systems. Ensure platform meets security, compliance, and performance standards, implementing necessary controls and monitoring mechanisms. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and industry developments related to index platforms, recommending strategic initiatives to maintain competitive advantage.
- Platform Execution - Own the end-to-end platform agile delivery lifecycle, from ideation to production, ensuring successful delivery and adoption. Lead the Product Delivery Lead(s) in translating epics to user stories and acceptance criteria that development teams will execute on.
- Stakeholder Alignment - Primary point of contact for internal stakeholders. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating platform capabilities, limitations, and requirements.
- Measurement & Continuous Improvement - Define and analyze key metrics to measure product performance. Drive continuous improvement of platforms through data-driven insights, user feedback, and industry best practices.
- Collaboration - work collaboratively across other Nasdaq groups to align to best practices, data sharing and interoperability, including ensuring that data is AI ready to be able to leverage the benefits of Agentic workflows.
- Bachelor's Degree - Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or similar
- 12 years experience at either an index provider, asset management (EFT Portfolio Management team) or bank derivatives desk.
- Extensive domain knowledge of global financial data, and the how that is used in the creation of benchmark and systematic Indexes.
- Strong understanding of data management concepts, data pipelines, and data architecture principles, with experience using Databricks or similar platforms.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and launching platforms or data products in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Strong analytics and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to make informed product decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience with agile methodology and product management, as well as using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand the larger company strategy
Preferred Requirements (desired):- A proven track record of successfully implementing Index platforms and /or Data platforms
- Familiarity with AWS cloud and Databricks platforms.
- Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts and their integration in current AI methods and agentic workflows.
- One or more Agile certifications (e.g. CSPO, CSP, ICP-ACC) and/or Scaling certifications (SAFe, LeSS, Scrum[redacted]) are a plus
This position will be located in Chicago and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $142,000 - $263,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
