DePuy Synthes is recruiting for Sr. Director, ERP Product & Platform.
 

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business toestablisha standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipatedto be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may berequired, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Sr. Director, ERP/SAP Product and Platform role provides enterprise leadership for strategy & planning, architecture & execution, and functional & technical operations of the SAP platform across a complex multi-instance landscape. 

This role is accountable for SAP product and platform governance, application development and delivery, and operational support for cross-functional business operations across multiple SAP instances. .

This position partners closely with Finance Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and IT leaders to modernize and rationalize platforms, strengthen data and analytics, and drive measurable business value through technology and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the end‑to‑end technology strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations of the SAP platform capabilities across multiple SAP ECC and S/4 instances in alignment with enterprise business priorities. 

  • Lead prioritization decisions to balance regulatory, operational, and strategic initiatives while maximizing business value and meeting critical Day 1 and TSA exit separation objectives. 

  • Establish and operate the SAP COE governance model including product and platform architecture standards, budgets, and vendor and partner management. 

  • Mange SAP and SI/managed services partner relationships, licensing strategy, and contract performance. 

  • Support SAP capabilities for Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality, aligned to DePuy Synthes business priorities and regulatory requirements. 

  • Lead the application of AI and automation to modernize platforms and operations at scale such as code remediation, automated testing, etc. 

  • Ensure regulatory, data integrity, and cybersecurity compliance across all technology platforms. 

  • Build, develop, and inspire a high‑performing global technology organization, including internal teams (on and offshore) and strategic partners. 

  • Establish strong governance, vendor management, and financial oversight for technology investments and operating spend. 

  • Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and standardization to enable resilient and future‑ready SAP ecosystem. 

Qualifications 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field required. 

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred. 

Experience and Skills 

Required: 

  • 12-14 years of progressive experience planning, designing, delivering, and supporting enterprise SAP business applications and platforms.  

  • Demonstrated enterprise experience leading, architecting, and supporting SAP platforms including SAP ECC, SAP S/4, SAP BTP, satellite SAP solutions, and integration with non-SAP boundary solutions. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading and delivering SAP COE platform services including administration (BASIS), development (ABAP, SAP IS), SAP BTP, release/ change/transport & landscape management, security, archiving, and data migration, 

  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, global technology programs and complex transformations including migration to SAP S/4 

  • Experience operating in highly regulated Life Sciences industry with strong compliance and validation expectations. 

  • People leadership experience, including building diverse, inclusive, and high‑performing teams including establishing off shore GCC delivery teams 

Preferred: 

  • Experience supporting complex medical device supply chain and manufacturing environments and knowledge of niche requirements such as loaner and service and repair.Experience managing global system integrators and strategic technology vendors. 

  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi‑year technology budgets. 

  • Change leadership experience in large, matrixed organizations. 

Other 

  • Language: English proficiency required. 

  • Travel: Up to ~20% domestic and international travel. 

  • Certifications: IT, SAP, supply chain, or program management certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$178,000.00 - $307,050.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).



This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.



Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
