What we are looking for:This leadership role heads the Global Commercial Development Team, focusing on driving portfolio growth and profitability for Solesis. As a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team, the Sr. Director collaborates across departments to ensure alignment with Solesis' business strategy and execution valuing collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth.
What you will do:- Lead and develop the Global Commercial Development Team, fostering a culture of mentorship and professional growth.
- Oversee all aspects of revenue generation and development, establishing sales processes, strategic account plans, and a playbook for market execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop targets and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
- Manage CRM-Salesforce processes in partnership with Commercial Operations, ensuring adherence and visibility.
- Mentor and guide both internal and external stakeholders, aligning their efforts with Solesis's Mission and Vision.
- Drive accountability for annual financial performance and build a sustainable development pipeline.
- Set team professional growth goals aligned with business objectives and lead skill development training.
- Partner with Marketing to establish Solesis' value proposition for design and manufacturing services, maximizing return for customers and the company.
- Develop and implement an annual sales execution plan.
- Work closely with Product Development, Operations, and Finance to establish appropriate margins based on market understanding.
- Partner with the CCO to establish metrics for the annual Sales Incentive Program.
- Coordinate with Marketing to develop and support the annual industry conference and trade show schedule.
- Establish and manage the Sales team budget.
- Build internal relationships with Operations, Quality, Finance, and Human Resources.
- Identify staffing requirements, participate in selection and hiring processes, and make hiring decisions.
- Participate in the Solesis Annual Performance Review process for direct reports.
Who you are:- Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Science, Biology, and or a related Engineering discipline.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in business development or process/project-related engineering roles, preferably dealing with new technologies related to Medical Devices.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manager-level role or leading a team of direct reports.
- Experience working with polymeric and or textile materials, Medtech CDMO space, design development stage gate processes, and FDA regulatory matters.
- Demonstrable portfolio of contacts and relationships in the medical device industry with a proven track record of success in developing and closing deals.
- Proven success in finding new business opportunities, selling new technologies, and establishing research partnerships.
- Working knowledge of a variety of medical device manufacturing techniques in a cGMP, ISO 10993, or 13485 environments.
- Effective communicator to all audience levels.
