Job DescriptionPrimary Function of Position The Sr. Director, Finance Shared Services will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic vision and long-term plan that advances the Finance shared services and provides a world-class level of service to our internal and external customers. The Sr. Director, Finance Shared Services will oversee U.S. and Canada accounts receivable, global direct and U.S. indirect accounts payable, and U.S. and Europe travel and expense (T&E) reimbursement, as well as work closely with our teams in Europe and Asia to ensure we have the right systems, policies, and procedures in place.
Essential Job Duties - Lead our Finance shared service teams in the U.S. and Mexico. The shared service teams are responsible for Accounts Receivable (billing, including lease and pay-per-use arrangements, credit, and collections), Accounts Payable, and T&E. The Finance shared service teams in the U.S. and Mexico also directly support certain operations in Europe, including for direct accounts payable and T&E.
- Develop the strategic vision and long-term execution roadmap for taking our Shared Services Organization to the next level, including developing the plan needed to move towards global shared services teams.
- Drive and foster a culture of continuous process improvements and excellence customer service.
- Monitor adherence to established Service Level Agreements, ensuring highest level of customer service (internal and external).
- Ensure strong oversight of AR and AP balances, with timely, accurate, and well-controlled reconciliation processes.
- Establish and enforce high-quality monthly and quarterly close reviews for AR, AP, and T&E, supported by clear operational and financial metrics and regular reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). Define, track, and continuously improve key AR, AP, and T&E metrics, including SLAs, cycle times, and quality indicators.
- Create partnerships and build trust within the business, including the Business and Regional GMs, FP&A, Tax, and Accounting COEs, as well as other teams within the larger Intuitive organization.
- Build a proactive, trusted relationship with U.S. Sales Leadership to support business growth while maintaining financial discipline.
- Lead resolution of complex credit matters, including setting, monitoring, and proactively managing credit limits and exposures.
- As a senior member of the Finance Team, identify and manage the risks that the organization is facing, including escalating and involving the right functional teams regionally and at Corporate, as required. When needed, drive coordination between all Finance Teams (COEs, Shared Services, Tax, Trade Compliance, Treasury, and Customer Finance) to ensure flawless execution of the finance responsibilities, drive process improvements, and support business growth.
- Address and resolve complex AP issues, including GRIR (Goods Received / Invoice Received) complexities, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and root cause resolution.
- Drive effective coordination and alignment with both Direct and Indirect Procurement to ensure seamless Procure-to-Pay processes and issue resolution.
- Develop short-term and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements, and succession plans.
- Identify, assess, and implement technology solutions; stay informed on leading practices and external benchmarks to modernize and scale operations.
- Develop a close relationship with our vendors to ensure we receive best-in-class service.
- Collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller Organization and Internal Audit, including ensuring completeness and accuracy of controls and financial statement documentation required for annual audits and quarterly reviews.
- Work with the shared service teams to evolve the policies and internal controls as our business changes, including making recommendations for updates to the policies and internal controls.
- Mentor, coach, train, and develop world-class shared service teams.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience- Developing strong professional relationships and trust with key stakeholders, business leaders, and other enabling functions will be key to success. Demonstrated success with building strong long-term partnerships is critical.
- Possess a strong understanding of the business processes and systems affecting the performance and delivery of the shared service teams, including AR, AP, and T&E.
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- Deep understanding of SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Deep understanding of how receivables, procurement, and T&E systems function and are designed.
- Proven ability to influence and motivate others to drive results in a multi-location environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex topics in a clear and concise manner to audiences at various levels of the business.
Required Education and Training - University degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent field.
- Strong accounting and finance understanding.
Preferred Skills and Experience - Being a certified public accountant or having an MBA is beneficial.

Compensation will be based primarily on the job level at which the role is filled and the
candidate's qualifications, consistent with applicable law.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
