Full Job Description

The Senior Digital Merchandiser will play a pivotal role in enhancing our product visibility and maximizing our online sales potential in the Fish/Marine Categories. With a blend of creative vision and data-driven insight, this role will refine the online customer journey, ensuring a seamless and engaging shopping experience that aligns with our brand's identity and goals.

This is an onsite role, based at our office in Springfield, Missouri.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead the development and execution of category merchandising strategies that drive sales growth, customer engagement, conversion, and overall business performance across digital channels.
  • Partner with buying, planning, marketing, and analytics teams to align product assortments, inventory strategies, promotional activities, and customer-facing experiences with business objectives.
  • Own category performance by monitoring key eCommerce metrics, including traffic, conversion, revenue, average order value, and customer engagement. Analyze customer behavior and performance trends to identify opportunities and develop data-driven action plans.
  • Oversee the visual merchandising and presentation of assigned categories, ensuring an engaging, intuitive, and customer-centric shopping experience across browse, category, and product detail pages.
  • Establish and maintain merchandising and product content standards that ensure accurate, compelling, and SEO-optimized product information, imagery, videos, and supporting assets that enhance the customer experience.
  • Partner with merchants, vendors, and content teams to drive improvements in product data quality, content completeness, launch readiness, and governance processes that support scalable digital growth.
  • Collaborate with Product, Search, Analytics, and Technology teams to improve product discoverability through search optimization, taxonomy management, navigation enhancements, faceted filtering, and product recommendation strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally to align promotional campaigns, marketing initiatives, and digital content with the overall brand strategy, ensuring a consistent customer experience and brand voice across all touchpoints.
  • Leverage analytics, customer insights, and testing methodologies to identify optimization opportunities and support continuous improvements to customer engagement, conversion, and digital experience performance.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, emerging technologies, and evolving customer expectations to identify opportunities that maintain and strengthen the company's competitive position.
  • Train, mentor and develop new Outfitters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • This role will have oversight to Canadian eCommerce operations

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in digital merchandising, with a proven track record of success in an e-commerce environment.
  • Experience owning a category or business
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience mentoring or leading others

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: 

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.
  • Expertise in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), e-commerce platforms, and SEO best practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with content management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
