Full Job Description
Employs advanced expertise of some customer-centered design principles, skills, methods, and technologies and moderate expertise of business/product development to lead design project teams through full design activities and all aspects of design projects. Primarily interacts with professionals and management of internal clients. Leads collaboration with design researchers, creative designers, and interactions with external customers. Frames and reframes business challenges to focus design efforts. Empathizes with customers to discover pain points and unmet needs. Synthesizes customer and other research to develop key insights. Brainstorms ideas and develops high impact concepts and business opportunities. Prototypes and tests concepts with customers. Uses effective storytelling methods to convey knowledge or pitch opportunities. Facilitates collaborative design activities and methods. Coaches fewer senior staff and other employees in customer-centered design principles, skills, methods, and technologies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Master's degree in Design, Business, or related field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience in design, design thinking, or related discipline, related to projects with ambiguous changes and a highly collaborative environment, including clients in an agency environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree or equivalent * in Design, Business, or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in in design, design thinking, or related discipline, related to projects with ambiguous changes and a highly collaborative environment, including clients in an agency environment in lieu of a Master's degree plus 1 year of experience. The position requires experience with: Strong project management skills. Excellent human relations and communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and digital presentation software. Excellent understanding for user behaviors as it informs design. Skilled in designing intuitive, user-centered interfaces with a focus on usability, accessibility, leading user interviews, usability testing, journey mapping and seamless user experiences across web and mobile platforms. Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) User Experience Research and Design; Figma; and Adobe XD. Proficient in creating visually compelling layouts, branding assets, and digital graphics that align with modern design trends and brand identity. Experienced in designing educational content and visual aids that enhance learning experiences through clear structure and engaging visuals.

Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Captivate; and Adobe InDesign. Adept at designing and developing user-friendly applications with a mobile-first approach, ensuring cross-platform compatibility and performance. Capable of building responsive, accessible, and visually accurate front-end interfaces using semantic HTML5 and modern CSS3 techniques. Adobe Dreamweaver and HTML/CSS. Experienced in producing custom illustrations across styles-from conceptual art to detailed vector graphics-for editorial, branding, and digital media. Proficient in planning, editing, and producing video content for marketing, tutorials, and brand storytelling using industry-standard tools. Adobe Illustration; Adobe Premiere Pro; Adobe After Effects; Adobe Rush; and Adobe Audition.

A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements. This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. This position is hybrid, meaning that employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.*
