Background:
The Development, Data and Analytics Platforms (DDAP) Team provides the data in our Data Warehouses. We are focused on the successful adoption of Business Intelligence tools throughout the county. The officially supported BI tools are: Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Tableau. We have Data Marts within on-prem SQL Servers, Azure, and Snowflake. This Data Modeler Sr contractor will be assigned production support and new projects for our Enterprise BI solutions.

Scope of Work:
The IT Data Modeler is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models for the organization. They will work with stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.

The IT Data Modeler is responsible for documenting and maintaining the data models, as well as training others on how to use them. In addition to these duties, the IT Data Modeler is responsible for leading and managing data modeling projects in collaboration with departments and outside agencies to build integrated solutions. They build consensus with management, users, and vendors to problem solve development needs, formulate scope and objectives for data modeling projects and define outcomes.

The IT Data Modeler provides expert design, development, performance tuning, and maintenance of complex mission critical data and analytic systems. They establish and enforce database technical, procedural, and documentation standards. They provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to staff on the most complex database problems. They manage the database system change control process, coordinating efforts of network and technical staff.

Required Skills and Abilities:
? Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent practical and relevant experience.
? Seven (7) years of IT Development/Data Modeling Experience
? This position must pass a criminal history records check.

? Advanced knowledge of or skill in Snowflake
? Advanced knowledge of or skill in Azure
? Expert level of skills and knowledge around Data Modeling techniques and processes (including Dimensional Models, Star Schemas. Fact and Dimension Entities, Fact and Dimension Attributes, source to target mappings)
? Expert level of skills with Data Modeling tools (example: Erwin, Mural Boards, Swagger)
? Advanced level of skill with SQL programming including stored procedures, query plans, functions and views
? Advanced knowledge of or skill in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
? Advanced Knowledge and Skill - Data Transformation Tools (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lakes, Cloud, etc)
? Advanced Knowledge and Skill - Source control (Azure DevOps, Subversion, GIT)
? Advanced experience in data warehousing design, BI concepts and best practices
? Advanced experience working with developers to build ETLs for loading data for reporting
