Job Description:

The Sr Data Engineer for Disney Experiences plays a key role in building the data foundations that power magical, guest-centric products and services across our global theme parks, resorts, cruises, vacation offerings, and consumer experiences. As a skilled and independent worker, you will design and deliver robust data solutions that enable analytics, operations, and product teams to make effective, data-driven decisions at scale.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and warehousing solutions that support Data Products & Platforms for Disney Experiences, enabling reliable insights across travel, vacation, and consumer-focused lines of business. You will work independently with minimal guidance, solve complex data problems, mentor less experienced colleagues, and act as a trusted problem-solver and effective partner to cross-functional teams.
  • Design and develop scalable, resilient data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes that support Data Products, Platforms, and enterprise data warehouses in cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
  • Contribute to the design and growth of data products and data warehouses, including defining data models and structures for content, engagement, and operational data.
  • Use technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow/UC4) to ingest, transform, store, and distribute large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
  • Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects, Data Engineers, and analytics partners to design and deliver high-quality, performant, and trusted data solutions.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation to support data quality, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and monitor data quality checks, performance tuning, and operational support to ensure solutions meet SLAs and deliver reliable data to business, analytics, and data science teams.
  • Participate in and advocate for Agile/Scrum practices, contributing to continuous improvement of team processes and delivery.
  • Act as a resource and informal mentor for colleagues with less experience, sharing best practices and offering new perspectives on existing solutions.


Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a closely related data engineering role.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience creating, tuning, and optimizing queries to build performant datasets and support analytic workloads.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building large-scale data pipelines and data warehousing solutions in cloud and/or distributed environments (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, Spark, Hadoop).
  • Proficiency with data integration and orchestration tools such as Airflow, UC4, or similar ETL frameworks.
  • Good understanding of data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and data warehousing best practices.
  • Experience working with AWS-based data services (e.g., Lambda, Kinesis, S3, EMR, EventBridge, AppFlow, DMS) or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python or Bash for data processing and automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance, acting as a skilled and effective contributor and problem-solver.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience with data visualization or BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SAP Business Objects, or MicroStrategy.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, or big data frameworks to support advanced analytics use cases.
  • Experience implementing and reporting on key performance indicators in data warehousing environments, including automated data quality checks.


Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent advanced study.
The hiring range for this position in Florida is $135,200.00-$181,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
