SR. CUSTOMER INTEGRITY & THREAT DETECTION ANALYST (STARLINK)

At SpaceX, we are committed to ensuring the service remains a force for good and sustains trust worldwide: both connecting the unconnected and executing thorough processes to detect and prevent misuse by illicit operators. We are looking for an experienced professional to detect, disrupt, and investigate potential misuse of the service-including proactively combating and deterring illicit operators. This person must strike the careful balance of safeguarding customer information and privacy while applying enforcement measures and executing with an even-handed approach, avoiding overreach and disproportionate collateral impacts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Proactively identify and assess platform integrity and abuse risks
  • Develop technical detection and mitigation strategies
  • React to investigate potential issues such as scams, fraud, and illicit goods/activities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and deepen our relationships with them
  • Conduct periodic reviews to support legal and compliance obligations
  • Execute with consideration for customer privacy, targeting activities of indisputable harm and avoiding overreach

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations; OR 6+ years of professional experience in global affairs, intelligence, or investigations in lieu of a degree
  • 4+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS), and/or statistical software (e.g., R)
  • 4+ years of experience investigating, mitigating, or dealing with illicit operators (e.g., fraud, abuse, cybersecurity, or other illicit activities)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Strong analytical research and communication skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • International professional exposure (e.g., working abroad or on global initiatives/businesses)
  • Experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or vulnerability assessment in high-stakes environments
  • Experience with research and intelligence analytic techniques, including open-source intelligence (OSINT) data techniques
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment in a fast-paced, high-tech environment
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international economic sanctions and export control laws and regulations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel as needed for business (15%)
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite-remote work not considered
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed
