  • Mentor other Credit Underwriters on complex loan structures.
  • Oversee daily underwriting workflow, addressing new product challenges.
  • Review high-value loan recommendations from the underwriting team.
Full Job Description
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Underwrite Indirect, Direct Consumer Loans - Small Business products.
  • Underwrite and analyze more complex loans that require financial analysis generally carrying higher loan limits.
  • Build/Maintain Relationships with Dealers - Branches and interface with all Consumer Loan related departments. Communicates with Loan Officers as to status of loan.
  • Maintain credit policy standards and work toward meeting department goals.
  • Mentors Credit Underwriters on more complex loans ensuring that the loan structure is consistent with the loan policy.
  • Daily monitoring and general supervision of underwriting workflow. Ensures that products outside of the system notification (Bank card, CVLC, new products) are distributed for completion.
  • Reviews and utilizes higher loan approval authority to sign off on loan recommendations from the underwriting team.
  • Assist in preparation and facilitate audits as needed.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with dealer finance managers, branch personnel and other Bank departments, and vendors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task when called upon.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills with knowledge of email, Word, Excel.

Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum of 4 years of Consumer/Commercial Credit/Auto Loan underwriting experience (Direct/Indirect).
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
