Sr. Cost Specialist, you'll play a critical role in transforming data into insights that keep our utility and renewable energy infrastructure projects on track, on budget, and built for long-term success.
What You'll Do- Track, analyze, and control project costs for EPC energy and utility infrastructure projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction work
- Maintain and analyze budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year projects
- Develop and update Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC)
- Monitor cost deviations, trends, and risks, escalating potential issues early to project leadership
- Support change management, including change orders, budget transfers, and cost impacts
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance with execution plans
- Prepare clear, accurate cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Support Project Controls Execution Plans and ensure adherence to company standards and procedures
- Utilize systems such as JDE, EcoSys, Procore, Excel, and Power BI to support job cost tracking and reporting
- Serve as a trusted cost resource for assigned projects, contributing to continuous improvement in cost control practices
What You'll Bring- 7+ years of experience in project cost control, job costing, or project controls within:
- EPC
- Construction
- Utilities
- Energy or infrastructure projects
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cost forecasting
- Budget control
- Change management
- Cost trend and risk analysis
- Experience working in a project-based environment (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced level)
- Experience with JDE and/or EcoSys; Procore experience preferred
- Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically

Compensation RangeThe anticipated compensation for this position is USD $73,600.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
